and we got the perfect set of results the table could look like this on Saturday night Just need a few to go our way - this means Forest and Brentford are guaranteed playoffs but cant get automatic and a wind for us takes us out of the Bottom 3 - we can dream ... 1 Leeds United 44 26 9 9 70:34 36 87 2 West Bromwich Albion 45 23 16 6 78:41 37 85 3 Brentford FC 45 24 9 12 79:36 43 81 4 Fulham FC 45 23 11 11 60:44 16 80 5 Nottingham Forest 44 18 16 10 57:45 12 70 6 Cardiff City 45 17 17 11 63:58 5 68 7 Swansea City 45 16 17 12 58:53 5 65 8 Preston North End 45 18 11 16 58:53 5 65 9 Millwall FC 45 16 17 12 51:48 3 65 10 Bristol City 45 17 12 16 60:64 -4 63 11 Blackburn Rovers 45 16 13 16 61:58 3 61 12 Derby County 44 16 13 15 58:60 -2 61 13 Reading FC 45 15 12 18 56:51 5 57 14 Queens Park Rangers 45 16 9 20 63:72 -9 57 15 Sheffield Wednesday 45 15 11 19 54:61 -7 56 16 Stoke City 45 15 8 22 58:67 -9 53 17 Middlesbrough FC 45 12 15 18 46:58 -12 51 18 Charlton Athletic 45 13 11 21 50:59 -9 50 19 Birmingham City 45 12 14 19 53:72 -19 50 20 Huddersfield Town 45 12 12 21 49:69 -20 48 21 Hull City 45 12 10 23 58:84 -26 46 22 Luton Town 45 12 10 23 51:81 -30 46 23 Wigan Athletic 45 15 12 18 54:55 -1 45 24 Barnsley FC 44 10 13 21 46:68 -22 43
A win for us on Sunday takes it to the last day no matter what everyone else does - it's as simple as that. Worst case Hudds & Charlton win we can't catch them but then there's still 4 clubs in the mix - we can only hope the other 3 bottle it on the last day & we win ! Don't get all this if Brentford/Forest are in play offs we get an easier game. It only means all their players will be playing to get in the play off team ! The maths says it's not over yet - tell that Fat Lady to sit darn !!!!
I agree. Sometimes it's better to play a team under pressure who then bottle it. That's what we do anyway!
Correct me if iam wrong but by my reckoning if Huddersfield win tonight ( 1-0 up) and then Charlton win tomorrow we are down.
No because Charlton are playing Wigan, with a 12 points deduction they will be on 45. Whatever the results are tonight & tomorrow it goes to the last day if we beat Forest
you are wrong as stated above - we could do with WBA winning though to keep Huddersfield in reach - A draw means realistically we cant catch them due to goal difference - unless we can get a couple of 3 goal victories
Well Carlsberg didnt do Friday nights - Huddersfield beating WBA was hardly the greatest start to the weekend for us. Thats Huddersfield out of the mix and safe - we cant catch them now I think Supertke is probably right for a worst case scenario but that would require Hull to win - I didnt expect Huddersfield to beat WBA though so I am not confident
Hull luton draw s Don't we want hull Luton draw st?we win n Charlton win Surely hull Luton draw better,if we win we're 4 th bottom on goal diff with wigans 12 off.
Yes Supertyke was giving a worst case scenario. The best case is if Hull and Luton draw and Charlton beat Wigan then we are 4th bottom
Didnt Fulham pull off one that was unbelivable in the Prem a few seasons ago when Hodgeson got them to win the last 5 games or something when they were as good as down
Only 6 points will keep us up we need Wigan to beat Charlton as I can’t see Charlton getting anything in last game against Leeds whereas Wigan play Fulham who I would imagine be saving players for playoffs. we also need any result other than a Luton win. Last game Luton are at home to Blackburn and Hull away at Cardiff . the next option is for Us to finish 3rd from bottom and hope the EFL verdict is favourable.
Annoyingly 6 points isnt guaranteed to keep us up but I think it would 3 points could be enough if we can fill in the remaining scores Charlton beat Wigan Hull and Luton draw, then all lose their last game More chance of Kylie knocking on the door tonight and asking to come in for a threesome with me and the Mrs than that happening though
[QUOTE="Farnham_Red, post: 2508458 More chance of Kylie knocking on the door tonight and asking to come in for a threesome with me and the Mrs than that happening though[/QUOTE] I got fed up of her coming to ours tbh....I stopped her ages ago...I can pass your number on if you like, but she's too clingy for my liking, let her in Friday night and she was still hanging about Monday morning...using my phone to call Australia was the last straw.

Worst thing for us about WBA losing means Brentford are almost guaranteed to be playing for promotion when we play them.
Yes Brentford are now 2 wins away from promotion. It's a amazing run they have been on since the restart.
