Love him playing on the wing. Pacy direct and effective. I’m less keen when he is played more centrally but gives everything he has. In a crap season one of the few high points.

Ok I'll take your word that he never played as a lone striker but sometimes his partner must have been the invisible man. So as a striker playing in a pair with a.n other he's scored 3 goals this season which still says to me that despite Mr Conway's most successful transfer window in the clubs history we have a serious problem scoring goals evidenced by 1 goal in the last 5 games, games we were desperately trying to win. I don't blame Jacob or any of the players for the mess of a season we've had I don't blame the coaches. I like many others lay the blame fairly and squarely on the board for their ludicrous transfer policy last summer when they changed the criteria of the policy in such a restrictive way that it meant the players and coaches jobs were made impossible and led to a squad which lacks balance experience and seemingly finds it difficult to successfully play in the style that the Board stated they wanted it to play. The recruitment team appear to have failed in the task to sign players comfortable in playing a high pressing game which is some achievement as that was I would imagine given the board statements previously the number one priority.
We are bottom of the league with 2 games left and baring a complete miracle are likely to be relegated as the bottom team I think thats more than enough evidence to justify my criticism of Mr Conway and the rest of the club's increasingly invisible board

Brown is massively overrated and couldn’t kick a cat hard enough to hurt it, I used to like him but how he’s flounced since restart has frustrated me

He’s much more useful out wide in my opinion. He is good in the air, and with a quick cross field pass, it’s a very effective out ball.

Players that can operate in a number of positions are like gold dust to a manger - he is one of the reasons why I believe we could have operated with a slightly smaller squad.

I never asked you to justify your criticism. I get it. For 17 games straight we barely garnered points. It's been a very disappointing campaign. I don't know why anyone would argue otherwise. Unlike last season, which was incredible. But that's football.

    Anyway, here's hoping.

It’s interesting you say that. For me his reading of the game is superb, he often makes excellent runs & gets in the right position a lot. He also presses better / more intelligently than any other player we’ve got & often forces opposing defenders to go long.

It’s his final ball / shot that lets him down for me.

I think given his age & the progress he’s made in a season & half I think your comments are very harsh & I think it’d be madness to sell him unless it’s a huge fee.

I'd keep him for league one but the jury is out at championship level. If we manage to survive I'd be tempted to give him another chance next season as a winger and see if he can develop.

I certainly believe he has the attributes to become a decent player at this level.

The lads great when playing out wide he can beat a man and put a cross in, willing to tackle back and hold the line too, what lets him down is his finishing but that will improve. Be a big asset in league 1 I’d be sorry to see him go if we sold him this season.

Jacob is being misused as a striker/target man. He is clearly a right winger/wingback/right back where he can get forward, one-on-one, down the flank.

Im struggling with Brown. Statistically he has had a good season assists but clearly not on goals. I think he is a good player and great that he has had a good run in the team. Developed well last season. But I'm not sure whether his progress has slowed. Recently i have wondered if he can kick a ball. Not a criticism of him generally and maybe a form thing but his crosses and shots have been scuffed, no power and his holding onto the ball when passed to him very poor. Seems to be since lock down. That form should have warranted a rest and to have to fight for his place but who would go there im not sure.

archive this post, a wing back who puts an early cross in is the best he can do. Not natural skill or trickery to beat an opponent.just inside of right foot across the box. when he as to think, the real Jacob Brown comes out.

A quick cross field pass is all he dare do, its the easy one to do. If you wide there is only one place to put it,

I don't think he's crap. I think because of the positions he gets into the crap things he does count more towards our points total. I'd rather him on wing where he can't hurt owt instead of taking it off Woodrow or Chaplins toes in the middle.

A young lad who has sometimes been played out of position in a struggling side. Anyone writing him off without taking this into account should have a rethink, IMHO.
