Not sure wigan will win it think they are just trying there luck. They spunked over 10miilion last summer on players with gates of 8k paying wages beyond there means. I think the grounds of the appeal is the efl should have not let the new owners take over. In Wigan's defence Wednesday should be deducted 12 minimum for blatant cheating.
Their grounds for appeal are that they couldn't expect the negative financial impact of covid-19. In reality that isn't what caused their financial woes.
Oh okay but yes like you said it had been coming for years with or without covid you only have to look at the fees paid and wages paid out jamel Lowe, kieffer...
If COVID caused their administration, where are the other 20 clubs who followed suit because it destroyed their finances too?
Our mate Nixon is saying a decision is being made tomorrow on whether to proceed with the appeal. Preferred bidder may want to start in league 1 with the smaller budget to get their house in order
Wigan have appointed a top lawyer to fight their case and they've announced the Administrators have identified new owners. Wigan Athletic relegated after 1-1 draw with Fulham http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53412769
Particularly given 91 other clubs have had to deal with it as well. As I state elsewhere, the legal implications of them overturning their own rules are immense. There is our lost £6m for starters.
If they win an appeal against a mandatory deduction for a named offence, the EFL will be very quickly in The High Court.
