The ruling was very clear when it was made. I expect it to stay as it is. Receiver won’t fight a court battle for them.

By no means a full indication but I had a bet on a few months ago for us to stay up and Skybet have paid out. ‍♂️

If they lower the penalty to 9 points that would mean they were totally unpunished. That can’t be right either. Bolton and Bury and any other club who were ever docked points would have every right to object.

They cant lower the deduction, they need to deal with washday and get them relegated for cheating Financial Fair Play

Rules clearly state. . Any club entering administration will automatically be deducted 12pts at the end of the same season... If said club is already in and finishes in the relegation places then the points are deducted at the start of the following season

Gerald Krasner ( Wigans administator) thought the appeal was frivalous.

Wigan have already employed a top QC to fight their case. They must be sure of themselves to do this.
He'll be able to argue that going into administration doesn't mean going into administration. M'lud.

Nothing will surprise me. But if they have a top lawyer who thinks they have a case, does worry me.

Lawyers will take anything on, it's how they make their money.

Yes it is. Receiver has an absolute duty to creditors. He can use funds to mount a legal battle standing in the clubs shoes but he has to justify in a report to creditors it was a prudent use of the funds he had available. Doubtless he will sound out the EFL but if they act correctly, he will drop his appeal

That is my understanding....an Administrator will not, and rightly so, consume further debt.

So if they do proceed with the appeal (the admins have already appealed), it’ll be an administrator of a company that owes us money, spending money to try and relegate us in court.

    FFS !!!
    Of course it is.
If the league overturn this then Barnsley and a few other clubs are in for £££ millions and millions.
Money that the league hasn’t got.
    Wigan accept they are relegated.
And it’s ridiculous for anyone to think otherwise.
PS - nearly 2 O’clock in the morning and I’m still on the whiskey here.
    Marvellous!!!
