VAR is still a matter of opinion sometimes. Hawkeye should be black or white. It’s over line or it isn’t. I’d feel hard done if we got relegated due to it not been switched on
We need a stewards room like in Horse Racing and it isn't classed as a result until the panel have looked at it. It would avoid potential court cases. In this instance the referee could blow for full time and make a symbol indicating that the result may need amending (Stewards Enquiry).
It was always going to happen with technology. In my opinion VAR is a total sack of **** but Hawkeye is very good and very reliable so this failure has to be a total anomaly. When technology fails we should still be able to rely on the well paid officials to use their judgement. I don't know if the incident in question was a very fine margin or should have been easy for the officials to spot and overturn. They have to know that no technology is 100% accurate 100% of the time.
You could see it was a goal from front on too.The ball was sandwiched between the post, keepers arm and the net.
It was a clear goal the Linesman should have been able to give it as he might have had an obscured view of the ball but it was obvious it was in the keepers arms and they were the wrong side of the post. It was a bad decision and the officials made a bad decision not to ignore technology and give the goal. But there are lots of bad decisions over the course of the season some work in your favour if (especially if you are from Manchester) some go against you especially if you are a smaller club like the Blunts. This appeal has to be flawed though there isnt even any guarantee that had the goal been given the game would have finished 1-0 -
