By using so called "independent" appeals panels then the EFL can wash their hands of it. It's disgusting if we suffer relegation once again due to rules broken this season and punishment applied next to benefit other clubs then we should rightly sue the EFL because they are being selective in the way they are ruling these cases. Which obviously has had an effect on our club.

There is no reason that justifies not applying the points deduction this season other than it’s intended to keep Wednesday up! Guilty means guilty .... Not you can take your punishment at sometime in the future when it’s benefits you!

Chartlon & Wigan lawyers ....Start sharpening those pencils!

These panels don’t like to make a decision that leads to a relegation. Macclesfield, Wednesday and no doubt Wigan

The only good thing I can see here is that if Wigan lose their appeal then a 12 point deduction this season is pointless. Could that be why it is being applied next year?

Knowing our luck they’d probably still finish above us anyway. I dread to think how insufferable they’d be after that!

The one thing about Wigan though is the rules were tightened so it did mean relegation.

Hopefully Wigan's 12 points deduction stands and Wednesday fill one of the bottom 3 spots next season.

How many times do they keep getting away it. The blatant cheating and bending of the rules. It's a feckin joke they should be down. Seriously it stinks of corruption.

I agree that this should have been applied this season however two positives:

    1. We'll be in the Championship next season and one of the teams already is starting on -12
    2. This will be a slow death for their fans as I can't see how they'll survive next season

Wigan won't have any players left, they'll fall through the bottom of whatever league they are in (like Bolton). Knowing our luck, they'll probably keep Wednesday safe in the Championship.

    This isn’t good news.

There is now precedent for points deductions being taken next season despite the current season not yet being complete.

If they applied them this season Wednesday would be down, bottom of the league. They’ve bottled that, why would we think they wouldn’t give the same outcome to Wigan?

Thing is if Wigan do win, but then go bust that's one less relegation spot and they ll probably still.get away with it.

Wednesday have honoured their debts so far! Sham buy of Hillsborough or not, if chanseri put money in as equity and not debt, FFP wouldn’t apply. They are not in administration. 12 points deduction for next season is much better punishment than I expected to be honest. The FFP loss is leveraged over 3 years accounts, legally it would be difficult to deduct those points at the end of one season without warning, hence next season -12. The former would have been easily challengeable at appeal.

They will be restricted to work strictly within FFP from now on, with the squad they have left and the little scope to add to it, next year for them is a relegation battle. Plus I wouldn’t be supposed if Chanseri was to pack his bags and call in some of the debt in the near future.

Some classic comments coming out already:
“Only thing we’re guilty of is not being as good as other clubs at fiddling the books.”
“Look how many fans of other clubs are commenting, they are obsessed with us.”
“We should boycott all away games, then they’ll notice how little income they get.”
    “We’ve done nothing wrong.”
“Chansiri should go. Give us our club back.”
