New powers being brought to bear next season including ground closure for discriminatory racist chanting. FA could close stadiums under new discrimination measures https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/53696551
This old chestnut raising its ugly head again and again and again. I’ll follow what God, otherwise known as Morgan Freeman, has to say about this ......... “racism, stop talking about it, there’s no such thing”. BTW ....... he should know.
Well intended, poorly thought out. No doubt the James McCleans of this world will happily incite the crowd by disrespecting remembrance whilst posing as an ira terrorist on instagram, then he’ll complain to the fa when he gets ******* from the opposing fans for it. I can’t imagine them giving the likes of Spurs or Chelsea a 3 match ban should he ever darken their pitch again, but teams like Barnsley .....
This is my concern. Racism needs to be stamped out of society, not just football, but this is too difficult to police. As people above have alluded to, the away fans could be responsible, even infiltrating the home fans, players could incite fans, etc.
I would think they could be charged with not being in control of the crowd. Notices need to be prominent round the ground, video technology could be improved and there could be a wider presence of stewards and police in the away end.
Racism has no place in football or society. If this is what is needed to finally bring it home to the fools that do this, so be it!
Good. Annoys me off my generation I've had it odd times and been called fenian and sectarian abuse. Dont want to go into detail but my father is Barnsley all the way and moved here because of all the troubles and brought me to be a Barnsley fan as majority here made him welcome at oakwell but the fear of the younger lot aka my generation are falling into the same issue what they know sod all about.
So when I was stood in Hillsborough a few years ago before the match and a bunch of youngsters came up the stairs chanting "We've got no p*kis in our town" I must have been imagining it?
Well I'm shocked, a bloke who thinks it's fine to use the word negro doesn’t think racism is an issue. Who could have seen that coming?
So you took something posted to mislead the gullible into thinking Morgan Freeman believes racism doesn't exist as gospel. You totally missed the point about him seeing a month dedicated to black history as demeaning to black people. Anyone with half a brain can work out what he meant. Maybe his current offer to devote his platforms to peoples' experiences of racism didn't crop up in your safe little echo chamber.
