Although he does create chances for others as well.

I suspect we can do better, especially given what he'll be earning. But I'd take Kieffer Moore as an option over Halme up front all day long.

Most (large) transfers are paid in installments - including clauses like appearances, goals, etc. We will have got 1/3-1/2 last year and be owed another payment shortly (also for Pinnock and others we sold in the last couple of years). We in turn will owe payments for our own purchases.

Common business practice to spread the cost into installments and defer stumping cash up.

Thats the way it is. The league won't grant the share to the new buyer until it satisfies footballing creditor debts. If the EFL withhold the league share, they cant take part in competition.

there needs to be a very steep learning curve for players ( especially the average ones) and their agents that things are a wee bit different now

I agree with this. Transfer prices and salaries will have a new level. At this stage if the transfer window no-one knows what the new market value is yet.

wonder if we will get the outstanding money owed by a year that Conway eluded to. Hull i am guessing.

As I mentioned in another thread, it would only be fair if we were able to repossess him. If a bank can do it with a house or car.....

Haven’t a clue but I’m guessing it’s 5 figures. Like others have said he’ll be wanting a club to match (or even better) what he’s currently on at Wigan and at the moment no club is willing to do so.

So what is Hulls excuse, and do you know if we're doing anything about getting them to pay?

Average wage in the championship is £16,000 a week. Reportedly went for triple the salary he was at Barnsley. £15k to 18k?

Apparently we didn't tell them about Angus' medical history in enough detail. Given the way Conway is always threatening legal action I'd assume we have instructed solicitors to get the money.

i agree. By the way the issues with Angus were public domain before they signed him. Throw in a due diligence in their own medical testing. Add to that that he has played since i think there is no moral or legal argument.

Yeah he’s played for them at the back end of this season. We had neighbours who didn’t use their new conservatory for 6 months because they had a dispute with the company and couldn’t be seen to use it less it be deemed that they were accepting the goods.

    Jesus.

The wording of this makes me extremely uncomfortable.

Football transfer fees are often paid in instalments. It works best for both clubs, for cashflow purposes.

i suspect someone form of legal arbitration will take place but that hull will ultimately have to pay it.

it seems they allege we failed to disclose a medical condition. So it’s a dispute, not simply a issue of cash flow.

It's the biggest problem with football finances though.
Installments along with add-ons for potential scenarios such as goals, appearances etc are what kills clubs. I'd ban them and the whole payment would have to be up front. Can't afford it? Don't pay it
