Surely his life changing move that stopped him from being professional with Charlton wasn't a move to Forest. I am calling BS.
I think he got the impression he was going to Rangers, and then for whatever reason it didn't happen.
I didn’t but I know he gave it the big one that day. Just have to look at his twitter etc to realise he’s a massive bell, he also votes Tory..........
Yeah he’ll have got a big signing on fee, plus an extra £10k a week. Probably going to get an extra million before tax, fair play to him
Yeah when he said life changing I expected one of the old firm sides to play European football or over here at least a low ranked Premier League side to take a punt. I didn't think life changing was playing in the same league as he did the previous season.
But forest is a step up from Charlton. Just like wigan was for Moore last season. An extra 10k a week is a step up for the kids today
A selfish disgrace refusing to play for his club whilst under contract - I understand (at a pinch) his wish not to get injured etc, but a real slap in the face for Charlton & the fans that sang his name! Might he have kept them up? I don’t know but, for me, he’s increased his salary by 30 pieces of silver
It is if your annual salary has gone from around £200k to probably £600k plus, and a big fat signing on fee. Two seasons at Charlton, and a short stint at Sheffield United aside, he's played most of his career at clubs that won't have paid a great deal. His three-year deal at Forest, at the age of 30, will probably earn him as much as the rest of his career put together. Not sure what you'd class as life changing, but that's life changing in my opinion. Were you expecting him to be replacing Firmino at Liverpool?
He wasn't under contract, so not obligated to play. Decided not to sign an extension as intended to move on a free. I can understand Charlton fans being upset it helped to relegate them, but let's face it, there is very little loyalty in football now. It's about making money and looking out for number one in most cases. I'm pretty sure he is going to be in a financially better position now at a club that isn't in the same mess as Charlton Athletic is at the minute. The Ownership issue has nothing to do with Taylor.
agreed. The charlton fans didn’t mind him when he was being a **** playing for them, when he he said nah I’m not playing then soon saw him for what he is. I dont blame him though, 99.9% of us would do the same
