    Possible new signing? From Wolfsberger AC, 26 year old Austrian centre forward.

    He’s now following Barnsley FC on Instagram and is followed by Ritzmaier and Solbauer (although that could just be because they know him and so he’s interested in how they are getting on I guess).

    5 goals and 3 assists in 24 games for 19/20 isn’t hardly prolific but if Struber thinks he’d be an asset to the team then he’d have my backing. This is of course, he is a transfer target lol.

    At the moment, we have Chaplin, Brown, Woodrow, Schmidt and Frieser that can play up front. Plus Simoes and Thomas who have played at the top of the diamond as well as the fact Miller is still on the books. If we're looking at another forward, I'd expect a departure or two, as well as moving Miller on.

    We need a defender more than we need a forward, particularly if Diaby isn't available.

    The guy we need from Wolfsberger would be Sean Weissman - almost a goal a game record last season and only 24 and, NO, I DON'T KNOW IF HE IS OVER 6'

    Agree we've let Sibbick go out on loan too and Sollbauer isn't the bionic man. We're going to have injuries.

    Especially when the lower leagues transfer market dries up and has a very low salary cap for bigger clubs in the bottom 2 tiers who might normally take the failures off your hands.

    Here we go...

    English players have a premium, they cost more. If they think they can get more for their money shopping there, then great. The majority of players from Germany/Austria have a decent command of English and even if they don’t we are hardly short of someone to help basic communication.

    Having other players from similar places will help them settle too.

    Arsene Wenger signed quite a lot of French players and other nationalities from the French league for Arsenal. Wolves have as many Portuguese players as Porto do. They did and are doing ok.
