Not sure on that one. But was another player Leeds offloaded to get the wage bill down.( that’s the greed of top flight clubs and their ilk.) 50% appears steep. But may have been the reason to offload. And cover future sell on. If he was highly regarded.
I know the fans rated him as well as Mowatt and Halme. Wilkes had that case hanging over him so probably glad to get the fee they did.
Man City 27 players alone out on loan. Then academy players. I believe above 80 players on the books. Ludicrous. Shouldn’t be allowed.

He hasn’t played because he’s still a young kid.
But once he stakes a claim he’s going to be there for a long time.
Similar to what’s happened with Styles towards the end of the season.
O’duor is another that is a brilliant prospect.
We could cash in on him now and get a few million.
Or we can play him for a couple of seasons and risk that he gets better - which is probable - and then sell him for mega bucks.

I rate him highly think he’s got the talent to play premiership football can’t believe the lack of time he had last season he’s easily better than both Williams. We won back to back games last season on his debut and 2nd start both of which he was mom contender (can’t remember if he won). Had West Brom winger in his pocket Boxing Day I’d be gutted to see him go he needs to be playing this season and as mentioned he has a fantastic cross/set piece on him which we missed last season (Git an assist Saturday). Out of all our young lads I think from the limited time we’ve seen them odour and styles both have big futures ahead of them.

Just a reminder about what I said about Hecky moving to Sheffield - that he will make one of our most bitter rivals more successful.

Why Barnsley fans should wish Hecky good luck at Sheffield is beyond me.

I think he is a good player with massive potential, but a move to Sheffield united would be a poor career move at this minute in time. He would just get loaned out by united he should be wanting to stay at oakwell and be a regular in our side again some more experience then see how his career progresses.

I would imagine there could quite well be clause in his contract for a trigger fee. Being as the Blunts are in the premier league and could offer him bigger wages , then I guess he will be gone. Only thing is that he has a bit of a contract left, so maybe we can get a decent price for him. Also maybe a player coming to us the other way too maybe ?

Conway and Lee have a bill to pay, £2.75 million wasn't it. If an offer comes in near that figure
he's gone and Cryne junior and his mum will get their dosh simple.

Given his contract length, Barnsleys financial position and the fact that the Reds have secured Championship status the club don't NEED to sell. Therefore they shouldn't sell this player. He represents the future of the playing squad if he continues to develop. If the board want to do their usual trick of making a few quid to line their pockets then they should sell someone else - there will be other chances for them. Keep him.

Disagree. He's only 86 days younger than Ben Williams who struber will happily play every week and he's older than Jordan Williams who struber would also prefer to play in his position too.

Odour not playing isn't because he's too young, it's just one of many poor decisions that struber got away with

I agree but considering how he was made a scapegoat by struber and then constantly overlooked in favour of a poor left back, poor right back and poor midfielder for his position I wouldn't blame him for wanting out of the door at the first opportunity

Yeh, odour needs to stay. We've seen nothing yet, the lad seems to ooze a bit of class and he now needs to bring it out this season and show what hes about. A strong half season and prem clubs will come, I'd be cheeky and ask 10 million. Think hes capable.

I posted something on the same lines as that under the ‘Probability’ post.
I wouldn’t be surprised if the owners sold a player to meet the £2.75 million bill.

I thought the Board had promised that any monies from player sales would be ploughed
    back into the squad.?
