The players seem to play more confidently and I'm wondering if it is due to lack of fan pressure. Take for example Mads, who last season early on couldn't put his own boots on the right feet but then from March onwards has become a team stalwart. For any player who isn't getting stick or even booed the lack of that extra pressure must benefit him, I know it would me, and I can't play football at all. I think you all know what it is like to have someone looking over your shoulder whilst you work, you tend to go to pieces. It's psychologically disarming.
I think it's more down to good management and players now knowing where they are meant to be defensively.
To a degree yes , it was a new team and where I sit I heard constant shouts at the players and manager , as it stands they can concentrate on the match and not worry about people putting them down
It seems to be a factor, but we'll probably never know for certain. Some teams appeared to handle the lack of a stadium atmosphere better than others last season, but again it's a tricky one to determine. My son has already tipped Sheff Utd for relegation, precisely because he thinks they will suffer at home without their "twelfth man."
