    Summat is going off.

Is it because they don’t own the rights to the name Oakwell?

Its been a subtle this one. Whitey was defending it last week when the rumblings started. There’s not much gets past Barnsley folk

Clearly Grove Street is the name of the new programme and that’s why they’ve been pushing it.

I wasn't 'defending' anything. We've made the decision to change the name of the programme. What hasn't got past you? What's the issue?

    Kinel.

We've changed the look and the name of the programme.

A couple of questions whitey. Purely out of curiosity and no agenda or conspiracy.
Who makes the decision to change the name of the programme? (And how many different names has it had while you've been there?)
And is the programme name change part of the reason you've been using the term grove Street more recently or purely coincidental?

Also the article says it focuses more on us. Is that because you don't expect any away fans this year?

The issue is no matter how much spin is put on it, we play at Oakwell. This ******** of referring it as Grove Street is quite simply insulting to the many people past and present who have attended OAKWELL over the years.

Seeing just the thread title, I thought it was a name change from Oakwell! Got worried for a split second.

No issues with the programme being called that and certainly no conspiracy theories.

They seem intent on pushing the name Grove Street for some strange reason .
If there was nothing in it they wouldn’t bother if we still called it Oakwell but the insistence of calling it Grove Street is sinister imo especially as they keep saying it’s always been known as that name when it quiete clearly hasn’t.

Agreed Kev, 100%. It might be where the ground is but in my 50+ years following the Reds it has never been referred to as an alternative name for the ground.

Let's hope that this stops at the programme name. I never buy one anyway so I don't care what they call it :)

I just read your post in the mirror.

It read: "MOVING TO SMALLER VERSION OF KEEPMUTE, AUG. 2022. BARELY WITHIN BOUNDARIES OF BARNSLEY DISTRICT. HOUSES ON OAKWELL. £45 CAT. C TICKETS. WHOLE THING FVCKED."

Have they actually started referring to the ground as grove Street though? I hardly read the official site (sorry whitey) so I haven't seen them refer to the ground as grove Street anywhere

I do not know what the programme has been called in recent years.
    I think the last one I bought was called Oakwelle Reviewe and it possibly had a free League Review in it. (Remember those days ????}
So on that count I'm not fussed one way or another what a paper booklet is called, so long as the team plays at Oakwell and that's where I go to watch them.

I honestly think this is a complete non-story. Theyve made a marketing decision to change the name of the programme, just as it has been changed many times before. No hidden agenda, no conspiracy, nowt to see here move on.

Whitey said on here just the other day that it was deliberate and related to summat coming up that was entirely within his remit of marketing, and for no other reason. You either believe the guy or you don't. I do.
