That has crossed my mind. I'm sad to see him go, but he's definitely far more replaceable than Woodrow ever would be.
I echo everything you say, I think Jacob will go on to have a very good career & I wish him well, its a pity its not going to be with us .
Really liked Brown, proper grafter and was a handful as you can see with his assists but the lad sees himself as striker, 11 league goals in 70+ games is a bit crap. We don’t play with wingers in Struber’s system and I’d rather we have Woodrow up front and Simoes in at 10. Saying that though, 2 million is a bit low and gives you that horrible feeling inside he’s only the first of a few that’s leaving.
I dont mind that but when someone has 2 years left on there contract I just hope we got a good fee and have a adequate replacement lined up. Whiteman was interested in us but donny didnt just roll over and have their bellys tickled
I think we knew Brown was a favourite to go, in fact i think we thought Brentford would close off the deal. As such i would have expected the club to have a replacement or two targeted. My issue would be now if we go through the first few games without a solution.
AAAAARRRRGGGGHHHH, **** ORF £2 million hes our player our prospect the lads got potential hes had champ experience hes worth x3 that and more. No fudging way should we sell for that and brummies can do one the robbing fcuks, hes worth more, but we will never know the fee.
Let's not ignore the fact that Ivan Tony is coming off the back of two 20+ goal seasons (and I don't want to be pedantic, but he's played in the Premier league {okay only twice but he has}). You can't compare the values of two very different players.
Where has he stated his desire to leave. Last week on an interview on radio Sheffield. He quite clearly stated he hoped this group of players including himself. Stayed at the club. ? . Good luck to the lad. But not critical to the side for me. I’m guessing Struber sees Freizer as the ideal replacement. And the reluctance is surplus to requirements having enough cover and balance the books. Plus rumours that there may be incoming signings that Struber May regard as better players. Tis as football has always been. Everyone says they trust Struber. It’s quite possible he’s made the final decision. Like everyone else though assumptions. None probably as accurate as any other. But vitriol is a given. Irrespective of the true reasons.
Plus Toney is a target man that scores 20+ goals whereas Brown is neither. Some of the comparisons in this thread are laughable, especially the Watkins one. Brown is a decent lower Championship player, if we get £2m and it goes in the pockets of Mowatt and Woodrow it will be worth it.
I'd rather keep him, but if he's the only one that goes I'm prepared to give it the benefit of the doubt. Will be a bit loved if we start another fire sale though
Absolutely. I honestly think £2m does sound a little low (if that is even the fee), but I agree, hopefully it'll allow us to hold onto Mowatt, Woodrow, Chaplin etc a bit longer, and maybe give us that injection that we need to bring in a missing piece in the system we do like to play.
I wouldn't bother replying to him to be honest. He's made 4 posts in this thread and all are abusing Brown saying that he's no good.
