Did I read or not that James Cryne had agreed to selling the club at a reduced rate than originally announced. and that all monies for buying the club had yet to be paid. Am I imagining this.
It's quite apt I think that the Tories have been brought up in this thread as the comparison is amusing. One has made a bunch of promises, broken them, and is now playing the 'other side". And the other...?
You can move outside of your borough temporarily. It's against EFL rules to move out permanently. To play outside of your town (I think it's 10 miles) you have to present plans that prove it's a temporary measure and you'll move back within an agreed time frame. This was written in to the EFL rules after MK Dons was formed.
Its abit sad how some still have chein and conway tinted glasses on, bless them. If we played home games anywhere bar oakwell I wouldnt be going to watch them.
It seems to me BMBC have shares in the ground but can’t invest into the improvements . The new owners want to invest in the infrastructure but can’t get the per cent of the funding needed from BMBC . There’s a compromise in there imo once all the posturing and threats etc have ceased , it’s just a case of when . The Council can’t have it both ways of holding shares and not investing and the Owners can’t do as they see fit if they’re handed over . Once the Willy Waving is over it’ll be sorted imo .
Battles lines have obviously been drawn, and I personally still don't have enough info to form a view of who's right and who's wrong. There would have to be a hell of a reason though, for me to even consider watching us play anywhere other than Oakwell
One simple question why wait barnsley Council and cryne family sell them the 50% if my memory serves me didn't they have the right to buy the 50%
That’s some statement. So, just to clarify, if all this did go tits up but, somehow the owners manage to get the funds to build a brand new stadium in Barnsley, you wouldn’t go? Putting everything else aside, if the current owners of the club already owned the stadium and decided a new stadium somewhere else in Barnsley would help to grow Barnsley FC and would be better for the club, would you still refuse to attend when they moved? What about a different set of owners completely building a new stadium?
yes within 6 months of purchase according to them at the time. It’s why all this is clearly ********.
In what way? Cant see why they would go to the trouble and expense of court if they werent owed money?
I think some money is still.owing for the purchase of the club and that s what the court action is about.
If the only reason was a petty dispute then no I wouldn’t bother. I doubt that we would be able to build anything the size of oakwell with training pitches and academy for less than 50 million quid. So unless they were prepared to find that a downgrade because they don’t want to pay monies they owe would t sit well with me.
