What car is it? We had some put on my wife's Renault Kadjar. The independents wanted £150 (RAM in Wakefield and that was about the cheapest). The dealer only wanted £175.

Not yet, I'm going to other extreme and being too cautious. Wife says she wants them as we had them on the last one.

It's a Astra Estate. When did you have them done. RAM came up on my google search but said its permanently closed on Google.

I’d personally pay extra for a dealer fit, had some done outside of dealer on some Transit vans and the latency and ease of use is miles better on the Ford fitted ones, not worth saving the £100 or so in case you don’t like the camera and end up having a scrape

I'm going to phone the dealer and see what they say. It's a 17 plate with the touch screen display so would support the camera ect. But if it's stupid money I'll look elsewhere. Had a car with after market ones before and it did the job. I would only go for audio ones if I went that route.

Cameras might be silly money. Dealer wanted £650. Then I read online that the Mk1 Kadjar in the UK has the wiring from the head unit to the boot lid already in place so you can buy a Chinese camera online for £20 and wire it in yourself. I haven't yet been tempted as we got the beepers fitted and she seems happy at that.

Yeah to be honest that's what I thought. We'll be fine with the beeps. It's not like I can't park it just a lot easier when you know how far away you are.

You can get some really reasonably priced reversing cameras off Amazon that are easy to fit yourself.
My mate (I know it shocked me too) bought one for £60, popped the reversing bulb out and fitted an extra wire and it's really excellent quality.

Or you might be better off contacting auto electricians than garages

Yeah that's why I was asking, the one suggested down Mapplewell is on my route home from work so will call in. I don't fancy doing it myself as I have a history of making a mess of such projects.

I had mine fitted at Denis Brays just the audible sort. No problem at all.
