My If the below is making myself clear then perhaps I need to be more careful. Having reread the thread it still reads to me as I have always answered generically and it’s other posters using the word Gammon. But that’s just my take. I always find it amusing when people use insulting and derogatory terms to attack people who use insulting & derogatory terms.
All the years I've been on this & other versions of the BBS I, too, have championed the stand of debating the issue rather than insulting the individual making a point. I will, however, call out an individual for adopting a hypocritical 'don't do as I do, do as I say' attitude. You are quite right that your generic approach has not specified the term 'Gammon', although the thread clearly did. I have no reason to doubt that you'll adopt the same stance were anyone to use words like 'snowflake', 'woke', or 'remoaner' in any future threads.
I must point out that we in our trust have been rewarded. We have been given an extra days holiday! #NB us on the wards who officially work 12 and a half hour shifts (as if) have actually only been given 7 and a half hours holiday so we're not even getting a full shift off
Same with paternity leave for 12 and 20 week scans with Laura. They gave me two lots of 6 hours unpaid to use up when your shift is 7.5 hours and expect you to come in for an hour and a half. I had to use annual leave because they didn't value my time. I asked them what happens to hours not used. They told me I'd lose them. So their time mattered but mine didn't. If they hadn't granted me leave I'd have gone awol anyway.
call out an individual for adopting a hypocritical 'don't do as I do, do as I say' attitude- not sure if this is directed at me but if it is, you will find I have never called another poster names and have always discussed at a level of reasonable politeness.
No it isn't. I'm a little surprised you think that's what I'm doing. By all means, check through my long history if you believe I've ever done such a thing. As far as I'm aware, I believe I've always been polite and courteous to others. I was speaking in generic terms, rather than to any particular poster.
I know you are a respected poster and it is easy to see why, so I didn’t think so but would rather ask than assume.
