It's being reported that he's died of an apparent heart attack at the age of 59. I remember him playing for Nostell CC for a summer in the late 80's/early 90's, at a time when there always seemed to be an overseas test player, or up and coming talent, in their team (presumably to obtain a UK work-permit, or similar). I was always fascinated at the time that a village team a couple of miles away from where I lived attracted players like this, and I used to always look out for the scores in the Hemsworth & South Elmsall Express each week to see whatever ridiculous figures he'd achieved (my memory is hazy, but I'm sure he used to produce equally impressive bowling figures as he did for his batting). Anyone else got any better memories of this than me? RIP. Shocking news and at a relatively young age in the grand scheme of things.

I remember him playing there. International test batsman playing on one of the smallest grounds around. Proper player. Good bloke by the sounds as well. Sadly missed. RIP
Always sad to hear of people dying too young. One of the decent aussies and a great player. Rest in peace.
