Aren’t those businesses effectively admitting that their current systems are inadequate? Those were the “COVID Safe” measures by which they have enticed the public back.

Not sure about that tbh I think they were going by Govt rules which are changing daily and the App has just been released .
Businesses are going by Govt rules probably so if a bailout is required this lot can’tWouldn’t penalise them however this lot are capable of anything untoward .
They also doing everything they can to keep their businesses going and looking to govt advice as a way of doing that .

Its a security thing between the US and China.

Basically Hauwei is/was on Trumps **** list. So american companies cannot legally work with Hauwei. Including Google....

Waiting, because I was told that the app will be used against you if there are isolation issues, eg non compliance, with fines and other penalties whether intentional or not.

I was in a pub in deepest darkest Northumbria on Thursday night and the locals were downloading it. I’m not a big fan of lockdowns, so if we’re going to be able to go about our business it seems reasonable to comply with the tracking app.

Seen some purported responses from NHS this morning stating that only tests processed by the Lighthouse Labs will be added to the app.
All test results undertaken by NHS and data held by ONS won't be added.

If corroborated this would put meat on the bones to allegations that 3rd parties methods aren't compatible with NHS systems.
This would then mean we have 2 test and trace systems in play.

From my experience over the last couple of days, if you want to eat out or drink out or buy something like say food then you will be downloading it.

What's the point of a system that checks you into a place but not out of it?
You pop into McDonald's at 7am for a quick breakfast, there's nobody else in and you leave after 10 minutes. At 8pm 13 hours later someone with covid walks in and the app still thinks you're there. Great.
