A few years ago I spent 4 nights in New York and like all other American cities - other than Las Vegas - I thought it was beyond DULL.
my sister said "it was just a load of big building's", they didn't quote her on any tourist publicity web sites
We were I New York last year for 5 days and it's by far and away the best city I've visited, and I have travelled to a fair few, if you think New York is dull then then your outlook on life must be equally dull.
God's own country every day of the week. New York is great for 5 days then I miss trees and the slow pace.
A huge Lego set - enormous rectangular buildings - which are impressive - but ugly. At ground level there’s fook all happening. Tourists walking about looking up at the buildings. Greenwich Village - I’d honestly say Wombwell on a night is better. As with most American pubs/bars - who wants to go out at night for a drink and be faced with every foooker sat behind a huge plate of burgers and chips. Not me.
Would you put it above London. If so why. No history. Seriously what has it got that Puts it in front. Never been. I can’t compare. So am open to comments. Ps I love to visit London. Landmarks. History. Museums. Eateries and great Theatre. To name a few. Florence I would put second. But a few runners up tbf. Prague is great but 2/3 days would be enough.
If you want the slow pace - why not stay in Manhattan - and have a steady stroll around - and as a task - look for an Indian restaurant. Or any restaurant that’s not selling burgers. If yer get bored then go to a museum - and compare it with what you have seen in London.
London's a great city, my partners daughter lives there so we go quite a lot and maybe that's why it's become a bit less appealing, New York offered something different, we found it fascinating, loads to do and see, great food. As for the history, it's full of modern history, New York has a great story to to tell, some of the 20th century's icons and their families came through Ellis island
Both amazing places, the question is stupid as there is no context. if I was Struber I’d be off like a shot. If I was Barnsley manager however I’d do it for free in my pants, you’d have to drag me out.
