So another manager/head coach is plucked from the conveyor belt. It should be mentioned that Lee Johnson, Heckingbottom and Struber were all poached? That doesn't look as damning in our managerial turnover.
I could be completely wrong here, but if Red Bull GmbH employ him (Austrian), then he’d be allowed to work for them in their New York ‘Office’ without restrictions I believe. Inc. business travel. If Red Bull New York directly signed him, then there’s a big difference. It’s a possible loop-hole. Could be wrong though.
If he's in talks they know there's no restrictions, they've met the get out clause and now its down to Strubers decision.
5 hours behind.. so only 8am over there. So wouldn't expect to hear owt ether way until at the earliest tonight.
Depends, looks like it will be a long season with these players and this system. He's still getting all the plaudits from our survival last season, the longer this season goes on I don't think his stock will be as high.
So it was hard enough to attract players when we had a manager so good luck now Dane lad. I’m waiting for the immortal line “We will go with what we’ve got “.
With the way things are shaping up I’ll be happy if there’s a solvent Club playing at Oakwell next season, without government support I can see a dozen clubs going to the wall before the end of the season.
I’d say not many players live in the Town/City their football club is based. So not just a Barnsley thing then.
It's a real mess, probably end up with no signings because of the uncertainty of Struber. Then no manager if Struber leaves. Good luck sorting this out
Disagree. 1.8 million pounds for him if true would be a great deal at any time. With money tight due to covid it will come in extra handy. I can see the replacement being someone without a club so we don't have to pay compo when cash is in short supply.
If your reading this Mr Struber: Struber Struber stay with us, Struber stay with us. Struber Struber stay with us, Struber stay with us.
If Gerhard was to leave, I for one will be extremely sad to see him go. I'd also thank him for his efforts here and wish him all the best for the future. It's probably indicative of my age, but I don't like this continually quick turn round with our managers/head coaches. I didn't like it under John Dennis. I didn't like it under Patrick Cryne. I don't like it under the present board. It's purely for short term success, in my opinion, and doesn't promote long term progress, or stability. Perhaps I simply ought to stay on my settee and tut at everything & everyone I don't like, or approve of.
Couldn’t agree more. When you look at what Mark Robins is achieving at a so called basket case club by having some continuity in management. That said, I don’t like the way football in general is going and really don’t see what everyone is striving for any more. I’d be more than happy with mid table year after year tbh
