There are plenty of low paid jobs that arent filled it's not just engineers and doctors that are vital to the country. And 2nd, 3rd generation will have the schooling, training and opportunities to do more skilled work.

But it’s not the rich who can’t get in at the doctors or can’t get their kids into the local school. It’s not the rich who work low paid jobs with wages kept low owing to the ever increasing availability of unskilled migrant workers. It’s the ordinary working folk of our country, they suffer not the rich, thats the reality. And the reality is it wint change. But racists though.

While ever this nasty piece of work Priti Patel is in charge at the home office we will get more of these stupid ideas, remember the Johnson/Cummings one building a bridge from Scotland to Northern Ireland.

Doesn’t matter; ‘it’s all opinions’ as someone posted the other day.

no matter how much evidence there is, Karen from facebooks opinion is just as valid as anyone else’s

All those nasty big businesses employing hundreds of people all paying tax and ni into the coffers, producing for society, those worker’s then go out at lunch and by a sandwich from a shop. Buy a pint at night, keeping the community running all paying into the coffers, those nasty rich business owners

have you really just tried to play the pity card... but racists? who mentioned racists?
you are actually right (for once and probably the only time) it is the ordinary working folk who suffer, those who pay the correct tax, those who do the right thing, the poor suffer because if the correct taxes were paid universal credit wouldn't so harsh on those who need it. But immigrants eh.

Who said immigrants did ? The drum I’ve been banging ( as well as my head against the wall) is that immigration adds to the issues faced by the working man. I’ve never posted that it’s a cause

And maybe if there were fewer people to provide services for the tax we pay would go farther ? Lets be honest here the rich have always looked after their own so I don’t ever see the tax dodging barstewards ever being fully brought to heel. It’s we who suffer, and whilst you’re teaching the world to sing and supporting their right to come here we’ll suffer more and more.

Fair enough, let's let them off the hook then and just hammer migrants even though they cost the taxpayer a maximum of about £30 a year (and that's taking the Daily Mail's figures)

It astounds me that tories can convince the normal people that they have their interests at heart. Genuinely baffling.

£30 a year ? How much does it cost the taxpayer to fund the border patrol boats rescuing them from the channel, the medical staff assessing/treating them, the border staff processing them, the food accommodation and support services they may receive ? And once you’ve added all that up consider how many more teachers, nurses, police, fire, mental health practitioners we could have funded instead.

The Home Office budget is avalable online. Those parts that deal with refugees/asylum seekers cost each tax payer somewhere around 1-2p per day.

That figure includes all processing, living and legal costs.

I'm not sure when it became a binary choice between funding the asylum system and properly funding the public sector. But anyway, we don't have to worry about funding the public sector for much longer, we'll have an extra £350m a week from next year won't we?

I work with budgets p&l and balance sheets as part of my job, there’s budgeted costs and actual costs, I’d suggest after this year one is different from the other.
