Why is Struber leaving ? More money ? Or because the board won’t back him ?

What’s his real motivation for leaving to an inferior league ? Further away from his family ? Is it purely the money ? If so why can’t our billionaire owners simply match what red bull are offering and assure him he’s our long term future manager and back him ?

or ??? Struber in public for last few interviews dropping bombs about needing new players and fire power. The locusts say sorry old **** if it’s not nailed down we are selling it and we are not backing you at all so roll your sleeves up for another long struggle and try and polish more turds and another miracle may happen and we stay up.

    8000 season tickets = £1 million
    Jacob brown = £2 million
    Malik Wilks = £1 million
    Mr Struber = £1.8 million
    Mgheean = £300k

Or.........The real reason he is going is the locusts are rubbing their hands because red bull are willing to pay £1.8 million release clause fee. The locusts do not give a sh*t as long as we bank money and turn a profit.

If he leaves it’s another kick in the teeth for our club and fans. What’s the point because all we do is bank money for anything good we have and we are just constantly going backwards all of the time with zero ambition and proper investment.

Struber worked miracles in keeping us up so why are we letting him leave to a league two standard league and not match the package ?

    Very disappointing if he goes

Will Dane (is that his name ?) make a statement or is he waiting for Conway to put the batteries in his back and pull the cord to let him speak with a script already write for him ?

Wonder how the search is going for a mobile target man ? Or are we still looking down the back of the settee ?

    Afternoon Gordon

because it’s Red Bull ?? So are you saying it’s all about his wage packet then ? Strubers choice to leave just because his pay is more than BFC ?

There will be another head coach lined up. Apart from Morais they've a good track record in that regard. (I still think Morais would have kept us up had the new consortium had the b ollocks to sack Heckingbottom.) However, they didn't want bad PR so soon after taking over. Waiting at least secured a fee when he left for Leeds.

I digress. I have every faith the new Head Coach/ Manager will be vetted to use the pressing style.

    No, because it’s Red Bull?

The organisation where he did his training.

Where a good couple of seasons will land him a top European job.

I think you’re right on both counts but I wouldn't blame Struber one bit. If someone offered me more money to do the same job but in New York I’d grab the opportunity by the ballacks because those gigs don’t come around twice. As for the owners they arent emotionally invested in BFC like we are and will doubtless pull whatever funds they can in order to give them a return on their investment and to make the club as cash positive as possible to preserve jobs and cover operating costs. Cashflow must be under enormous pressure at the best of times and particularly during covid. Win,win for me. Bye Mr Struber and thank you for last seasons great escape.

He needs to go. Just been quoted in today's presser as saying his agent has been speaking with other clubs for months. None of this will be doing us any good.

Am also in a minority on here that doesn't buy this argument that he's not been backed. He says he has enough "skinny" players, why did he sign Ritzmaier? He wants a target man, why did he sign Frieser? Why has he signed another right footed centre back?

At the same time, I don't have much confidence in Murphy to get much done in terms of signings and contract renewals, but not sure Struber should get a free pass.

Not convinced Morais would have kept us up, but I suppose we ll never know.
Was watching the Leeds documentary on Amazon prime and they said foreign coaches statistically perform better in their second season, so far we haven't been able to test that theory!

Hope Struber goes out with a bang and we give boro a real thumping on Saturday!

Not really. He was lost in the moment, that's all, just like the rest of us. All seems a long time ago now. I'm a bit "meh" about whatever's happening. Go... stay... whatever...

Red Bull, more money, the opportunity to move to New York.

I'd do the same if I were him (and not a reds fan!)

The only loyalty towards a club is by the fans, you do get get a few exeptions, Gerrard etc but that is few and far between, the owners don't give a fat rats about the clubs history, heritage etc, the long and short of it is they are business men out to make money, nothing else, and our manager, as much as he wants us to do well for his own reasons ( CV) he as no ties or loyalty to our club, he probably still thinks the kendray and Grimethorpe dialect is a mad cult language, Barnsley or NY? no brainer really

Just because they are billionnaires, doesn't mean they have any tangible money to throw around. You'd be surprised.

Probley abit of both this window has been poor we have been crying out for a big striker who can hold the ball up. The only player we had who could win a header in the attacking 3rd we sold and now the clock is ticking still havent replaced kieffer. Dane said we had irons in the fire but actions speak louder than words. And I imagine red bull are paying more than we do.

Realistically can he improve his reputation with us anymore?

At the minute virtually everyone outside of Barnsley football club think he’s a genius (media & other clubs fans) & most Barnsley fans rate him.

All that will happen if he stays with us is we’ll either go backwards & his reputation will suffer or we’ll do well, lose our best players in January or next summer & eventually go backwards.

Either way his reputation isn’t going to improve much more.

If he goes to New York now it won’t put off a championship club looking for a manager in the future going after him where as if he stays with us & we do badly it probably will put championship clubs off him.

You only have to look at Stendel last summer. Started the season losing most of his best players, we signed a load of kids mainly from abroad to replace them & he had plenty of injuries & all of a sudden after a bad start loads of our fans were saying he’d been found out & deserved to be sacked. I think fickle’s the word I’m looking for.
