I’m asking that the police apply the law equally. If me and my mates went into town to pull down the unknown soldier outside of the town hall I’d be in a cell. Pull down the statue of a slaver and no arrests are made.
Please read that back to yourself, slaver vs unknown solider. Yes it's a crime, but they're not in the same league. Anyway would you rather police attend a violent incident like a murder or protect a piece of lead? Those are the choices these days. I'd have preferred the local council to use a bit of moxie and moved it before what occured. It was clear what was coming, usually before any race riots or demos the police are ahead of the game. I'd be shocked if this option hadn't been floated by local senior officers. Like all of us chief you won't be surprised to hear coppers aren't listened to by politicians of all colours.
- they arrive at Calais having been financially fleeced - suffered all sorts of privations as they cross Europe - many are faced with the prospect of a dangerous Channel crossing in a flimsy craft. That is wrong and shouldn't be allowed. We should welcome these migrants - we should provide safe means for them to cross the Channel - ferries - trains.
, won’t take anything from the story , because it’s rubbish, now you should know that on the Isle of Man we all pay tax ,unless you can’t afford to, or don’t earn enough, as it’s not a tax haven , urban myth, abit like you, look it up
Apologies, should have said not as much tax. Yes, I think the top rate on the island is 20%. Millionaires,,, 20% tax,,,, go figure!!!
In all the arguments I've seen on here over the years this is the first time I've ever seen one side deny the other side's very existence.
Can you really not see the difference? Has there been a lot of debate and petitions about getting rid of the unknown soldier?
Of course I can, but the police are supposed to remain impartial, which is my point. We both know that if 6 of my mates and me rocked up to pull it down we’d be stopped and nicked and rightly so, its not for the police to decide the worthiness of Colston’s statue their job is to apply the law equally, fail to do so and the law becomes something you’ll abide by only if it suits your agenda.
I honestly don't care if there aren't enough jobs for them. Id rather see them unemployed here than dead at the bottom of the sea.
I think people honestly forget that they are talking about human beings. At school we have a few refugees, I have no idea how they got here and I didn't ask but I know they have been uprooted from everything they know, in horrendous circumstances and are now having to start a new life in a place where people openly say they wish they'd drowned, should have been eaten by sharks or whatever else. It's so easy to be angry and fearful about the unknown; I'd challenge anyone to spend 5 minutes in a room with them and their parents and come out still saying they'd rather they were dead.
Trickster it's best off saying nothing on here, stick to football or bfc it's very rarely got anything to do with football in last year and it needs to change.
If you and your mates were part of a big protest I dont think you'd get treated any differently at the time.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion. The problem with the right wing in 2020 is they only read that as I am entitled to an opinion. but we are also everyone; and as you’re entitled to your opinion, and the nasty racists are entitled to an opinion, so too are the caring people, the people who’s opinions are based on facts not rumours, everyone
