If Struber does leave does anyone care? This season so far we've been nothing sort of ***** since the first second. They've hit the bar from a free kick and the players are turning around walking away when the ball is still in ******* play!!
we're an ambitionless club with no aims to do anything except exist and churn over players, doesn't really matter who are coach is tbh
Its 4pm I am in the pub with the lads I go to the game with. Not really paying much attention to the football.
I wasn’t that fussed about him staying or leaving regardless. I think he’s a talented coach and I think we’re limited with recruitment due to obscene wage demands and that’s stopping us from kicking on. But I’ve no connection to Struber and what we achieved last season because it was all done behind closed doors. Never sang his name, never clapped him off the pitch, never saw him come to the away end or the Ponty End at the end of a game. Zero relationship there and a very poor start to the season means it’s super easy to just move on. Lockdown is f***ing rubbish
It’s becoming increasingly difficult to be. watching but not actually being at a match is such a disconnect from the team. More so than I imagined, being a season ticket holder for over 35 years it’s odd. Through this experience of the last 6 months I just don’t know how ‘fans’ of teams they don’t go and watch (ie supporting Man Utd/ Liverpool on sky etc) can feel the involvement, I always thought it odd but if I’m struggling with it with Barnsley I just can’t understand how they do it.
I think Struber is a good manager and did well for us last season. This season for some reason we havent got going and just dont look like scoring - not sure how much the last 2 games have been influenced by the off the pitch events - Id prefer him to stay but if he is going its better he goes sooner rather than later - we cant have a manager who isnt focused on the job as it rubs off on the players
I,not bothered as long as we bring Paul cook in to replace him. Someone that can actually motivate the players and put a stop to bringing in foreign ****.
For 'obscene wages demands' read 'market rates at Championship level'. Rightly or wrongly, we will never compete at this level unless we are able and willing to compete in the market.
I've been feeling increasingly fed up with everything this week, stuck up here in quarantine in Scotland, not even able to get out for a walk, on my own, trying to clear out an elderly relative's house that's been sold and sorting through decades of someone else's accumulated junk. But hey, there's the footie at the weekend to look forward to! I still associate it with fun, for some reason, even after all these years. Ah well, only another 45 minutes to go.
On the basis of I can’t face a season of us playing like this I wouldn’t mind him going. the games thus far show how important Brown was to GS and that we cannot effectively play his preferred system without him.
The wages are obscene. Market rate or not market rate. We have to leverage the promise of game time and development to sign players, who could go elsewhere for more money. It’s all we have if we want to play fair.
Let's not forget Conway and co .....who in my opinion caused the apathy in the first place .... I will say it again...in my opinion Conway and co would rather operate in the lower leagues developing players and selling for profit.....cheaper overheads bigger returns on the initial out lay.... Not seen anything to disprove my theory....
I like the guy plenty, but is he really worth the £1.8M release clause? 36.8% win record with us, and only avoided relegation because of Wigan's shenanigans?
This theory. How does it benefit the owners when there’s no evidence that they take money out of the club and their investment will be worth less than what they paid for it?
