If we can see that LTT why can't our board.? It really is getting beyond a joke. You could forgive them for one season, but seemingly to be content to just let it happen each season is downright irresponsible. Obviously their ambition and pride in seeing a successful team represent the town, falls short of that shown by our devoted fan base. The sooner the lot of them ship out, the better.
This is exactly where I am. We have much better players sitting out games, than the ones selected. I can accept us not spending at the same rate as other clubs.... but to then not select your strongest 11 is just bonkers.
Good on you for trying to stay so loyal, but their modus operandi was apparent before the Covid crisis. They're having you over and they need to be called out.
In what way though? Lots of people say this but rarely is it backed up in fact. Not disputing there are issues, especially with the boardroom spat over Oakwell, but how are they having any of us over?
I think I'm fearing that they're viewing us more as a nursery club rather than a club aiming to get back into the Premier league again.
Demands a more comprehensive response, but selling you a season ticket to watch a team then cashing in Brown and Struber (just like last season, cashing in Lindsay, Pinnock and Davies, and pissing off Stendel). Does that not matter to you? Supporting this club has become like watching Mr Benn.
TBH Helen I'd be happy if they truly aimed to get us stable in the Championshp (rather than just saying it). But like any business, that demands investment up front.
I don’t think they’re cashing on on Struber. If that clause wasn’t there he could be leaving us for almost nothing. Football is rubbish in that none of the power is with the employer and it’s all with the employee. If a Head Coach wants to go, they go. The £1.8m is way, way more than we would get in compensation normally. Also, I knew we would have to sell one player. I’m more surprised it’s only been one to be honest. We needed the money.
Me too, perfectly happy in the championship with that faint hope that we might one day have a season where we may creep into the play offs.
Well I respect your view. I'm glad you're content with the situation. We all have our choice, do we not?
I wouldn’t say I’m content mate. Not at all. Understanding why certain decisions are made or how they happen doesn’t put you in happy clapper territory. I get SOME of the actions, but doesn’t mean I’m happy with them all.
Serious question Loko - your last comment suggests you have some knowledge so why did we need the money? For what purpose?
we didn’t have to bring on Victor, Schmidt and chaplin were both on the bench. Another bad manager decision
No knowledge at all mate other than the fact season ticket sales are down massively (selling 2,000 less of them for less money) and I’m guessing sponsorship opportunities are limited in a behind closed doors environment. Comment was based on the general state of football right now.
Sick a hearing this retort when you question this boards asset strip strategy. Theres many levels in between being wednesday or being what we are now, many many levels, we dont have to be one or the other. This board supposedly have 7bn, yet they havent spent one penny on this club to buy it and not one penny spent in transfer fees. Its being subtley asset stripped. Stop defending em with this 'being wigan' or 'being bury' crap, if you keep peddling this nonsense, your part of the problem. Weve not replaced a player we got 4m for 14 months ago, its asset stripping, plain and simple.[/QUOT
Genuinely, what have they stripped? I see this a lot but nobody ever backs it up. I’ve no love for the owners really, but they haven’t taken any money out yet but keep getting accused of doing so? They haven’t put any in, but then should they?
