16 million isn't a huge amount if you dont have to put another penny in.

They are trying, but they are recruiting from a country lying 12 th in the UEFA rankings with
England second behind Spain ( i. e poor quality). They need to ignore Strubers recommendations
and put the spreadsheet in a cupboard for now and bring someone in on a temporary basis, to identify
some quality forwards currently playing in the EFL, who would give us a fighting chance that
along with what we've already got, can keep us in the Championship.

Does anyone actually believe we aren't trying to sign players? I would be very surprised if that was the case. I know we should have players lined up before selling, but it doesn't always work out that way.

Maybe wait to sell key players in that case?

This. I can do without ambition that requires millions invested, but you can't gut a team with no plan in place to replace the players you've lost.

I'd add Jacob brown to that too. He was obviously sold without a solid plan to replace him having been made beforehand. And I don't care how much he wanted out - as I've said before, the people running the show are supposed to be masters of global business, but as far as I can tell they don't have a clue. At this point they look very much like a bunch of chancers.

It's certainly a possibility imo, I'm struggling to believe that a championship team with so many weaknesses in key positions wouldn't have anyone through the door by now. The striker position is obvious and has been for over a season now but just as concerning is central midfield and left wingback. We lost Ben Williams before the season started, we needed better in that area even before his injury!

We've got better. He was on course for player of the season before he was hauled off and frozen out.

Oh I agree, it's been a bizarre selection policy and I'm hoping wev seen the end of it but even if Williams hadn't got injured it was an area that still needed strengthening.

Whenever a fan mentions investment by the board their apologists immediately jump on the them with the usual suspects at the fore claiming we'll end up like Bury or Wigan or Bolton etc but that's ******** very few if any are asking for that, we aren't asked them to compete with Man city for signings but surely its not unreasonable to expect a business owner to invest in their own business not stupid amounts but sensible amounts enough for stability in the championship would be a start. Patterson was signed for £500 thousand by the fowls now I'm not saying we should have signed him but it proves players are put there for reasonable money ok they might not fit in with the club's policy but sometimes you have to make exceptions and take a chance. Look what happened when the club took a chance on John Hendrie. Craig Higgnett Adam Hammill. Nobody wants to see the club bankrupted but also nobody wants to see the club hamstrung by a tight fisted board who are far too zealous in their application of their transfer policy.

I suspect Struber's list went in the bin on Saturday night Donny ;) Although that may mean we're back to square one in terms of other targets and will need to move fast to get any permanent deals done tomorrow

I have seen posts saying we have been for sale for X number of years before the investors pretended to buy the club.
i had no idea it was for sale i presume not many buyers worldwide did too
was it actually being marketed or was the owner just saying the club was for sale in the local rags.

Mr Cryne made a statement saying he wouldn't see the end of the season out
he hired a broker agent to sell the club worldwide, the club was sold within months

Football clubs and other sporting ventures of all sizes big and small are sold literally around the world on a weekly basis.
there are a multitude of reasons why
Prestige ,showing off your wealth ,sporting reasons, a person has been successful and wants to use that money for his love of that sport or team he supports or likes
moving your wealth offshore if you live in a country that the government could at any time take every penny you have in that country off you, Russia China etc

Tax dumping instead of paying tax some of that income tax you are paying can be put into your other business ,basically free money to grow or dump into a business
Money laundering legal of course using tax loopholes
turning untaxed money into taxed money
    using various methods including
it is perfectly legal using a well known tax loophole for owners or directors to loan money to there company's or themselves, a building at 0 % rate if they please and when that money is paid back it is classed as taxed and can be put in the bank in that country

best be carefully though and not too greedy as Wigan fans found out there is a very thorough video on youtube of what happened there using documents from here and abroad that have been tracked down and read .
proving the Wigan buyout ownership was just one big money laundering scheme ,they got greedy other things conspired against them and it backfired on them as far as the club was concerned

if they thought the club would be hard to sell they wouldn't have bought it
they bought it off a dying man for a steal and i am sure they would be more than happy to double there money
if they sell it before they have even had to put all the money in to buy it all the better
that's if they even have the money to buy it without somehow using club funds to purchase it which looks like the Crynes are trying to block them from doing.

they will want to sell the club while it is a championship club
my opinion is the club will be sold in the next year or so at the latest
all this nonsense with the ground seems to me for them looking for a way out with a excuse without looking bad to any potential upcoming or other ventures.
