"In other Barnsley news, their Championship rivals Watford have made an approach to sign a Leeds star that cost £3million in 2018."
    That's tenuous even for clickbait.

Remember Summer 2013 - just after Flicker's "Great Escape"? "We can't carry on like this..........!"

Doesn't alter the fact that what he said is true he may have been responsible for yesterday's **** show but the responsibility for the bigger **** show that is Barnsley FC at the moment is the 80% percent mob although to be honest as they still owe money for the club 80% percent is a gross over statement. All people who are jumping on Struber at the moment are doing is giving the chancers an alibi an excuse a get out of jail free card.

I’m no manager but if I went to a club who had two strikers scoring regularly, the last thing I would do is split them up and basically make one (Woodrow) defunct. He can blame the board all he wants but he was backed and is now failing rapidly

The terrible man management was apparent last season with the treatment of pinillos, cavare and Wilks. I am still baffled to this day how those three players weren't utilised in the squad to help our survival. J Williams and B Williams were the preferred options, and at that time both were massively out of their depth. That set the alarm bells ringing for me.

I'm not sure how much that was his decision. I felt shades of owners putting words into his mouth along with saying he preferred coaching a smaller squad.

Different owners same issue. We can’t compete at this level without spending money we don’t have - ffp you can carry a deficit of 39 mil over 3 years? So there is scope to spend more money I guess, we just need an owner prepared to spend it.

What’s he meant to do? He gets slated for not playing Woodrow up front & now he’s getting slated for not playing Chaplin up front but every time they’ve played together it’s not worked.

Should he not try & give the new attacker a chance rather than go with a partnership that hasn’t worked?

They didn’t score many goals in a partnership. Woodrow scored a few early doors mainly when Chaplin wasn’t playing & then Chaplin started scoring when he was alongside Brown & Woodrow was behind them.

I’d argue Chaplin looked as bad if not worse than Frieser has before Struber took over.

And that’s the problem, there’s 3 types of clubs in this league.
The teams that say **** FFP and throw money at it,the teams willing to spend upto £39 million over 3 years that they don’t have and us. We will always struggle with a concept of only spending what you have when the accepted ‘normal’ is to overspend every year.

You don't think the owners had some say in not using those players? What If they played a certain number of games and it triggered a contract extension or additional contracted bonus payments to the players. Sorry but as much as Gerhard has struggled at the start of this season and being found wanting IMO he was 'told' not utilise the three players your refer to.

Chaplin has been absolutely woeful for a while now. Had that purple patch last season where he scored a few but other than that he's done absolutely nothing.

Outside of that freak December 2019 when I think he got 7 goals & championship player of the month he’s not really done a lot has he? And 3 of them were in one game.

What is freezer's best position?! I actually thought he was bought as a winger although Gerhard has played him up top so **** knows. Don't rate the lad anyway. Basically we need 2 new strikers in!

How many games did Wilkes play to trigger such a clause ? Pinnilos spent most of his time on the treatment table & I do not know Cavere"s stats but I would be amazed if he played more than 40 games , sorry my friend but these players would not have triggered any clauses of such nature

None of the players were anywhere near round numbers that would be expected to trigger clauses

I rated the man highly but I think the first three games showed his flaws, no plan B, terrible substitutions etc. His tactics have been found out and strikers drop in form has led to awful football.
As previously mentioned I question his pushing out of players like Cavare but then playing Ritz every game when he's awful. Cavare was out best RB, alienated Wilks who has since found goal scoring form when played to his strengths. Etc etc.
I expect we will improve quickly under a new coach, hoping for someone with attacking chops like Stendel again
