unlikely that Franchise FC would agree to any loan deal that prevents them from selling if the right offer comes in. I would expect us to do exactly the same.
Exactly. Agree to it or don’t get him. Always worth the punt for someone decent. If he wasn’t decent, nobody would want him. Schalke are a big team too - so no wonder either. Great move for the lad.
Is that the Schalke who are propping up the league P3. L3 and just got thumped 8-0 by Bayern. Enjoy Ludewig
Sign a deal that does exactly what it says on the tin... Season loan means season loan.. who agree our deals must be as weak as PPP..water
so if the options were a. Ludewig loan, with the risk he could be sold in January b. a guaranteed season loan (if such a thing even exists) for a player not as good c. no one ...which would you go with? not having a go. genuine question.
And if the loaning club say its a condition of the loan take it or leave it what can we do we just wouldnt get him at all - I cant see Salzberg agreeing to let us have a player for a year that they cant sell if someone wants to meet their asking price for him. Its just unfortunate we couldnt get past today with him then we would at least have had him until the January Window - assuming thats where it still is
Very true but I'm sure he would still be playing over there. Schalke in just as much of a mess - financially are well in the Red. Have to sell main players to bring anyone in. Just lost manager, but tbh lost the dressing long time ago. They've wanted a RB all preseason since jonjoe Kenny went back to Everton.
The issue isn't Ludewig being signed by Schalke - there's nothing the club could have done about that. The issue is that this undoes the one and only signing of the summer that we can be fairly confident was a half-decent one. Two or three other players and this would be unfortunate, but wouldn't elicit much more than a shake of the head. As it is, I can see why people are annoyed - this is just the only concrete news that we currently have to lash out at!
Me too tbh . If they’ve bought him to be in squad then he’ll be gone ASAP but if they wanting to develop him he’s a ready made team place here .
I watched the Leipzig-Schalke game on Saturday night. It's not exaggerating to say Schalke could have conceded eight again. They are in huge trouble. Ludewig will do little or nothing to help stabilise them. He is talented, but if S04 are seriously expecting a kid to steady them, I think they are likely to be disappointed.
Embarrassing comments from Murphy. What the hell is "divisional retention", and why is he trying to make out that it was our decision to make? Like a dumped teenager claiming he really dumped her. He needs to clear off, and get a Director of football in.
