I really don't understand that logic at all! We're talking here about someone who lost their job by their employers claiming something. If that isn't true then say something, otherwise it looks to everyone else that it's true
I was brought to to show respect to others, until their actions gave reason not to. I was brought up to believe that it is wrong to presume guilt of an individual based on nothing but rumour.
Agreed 100% mate. I don't know the truth and aren't really saying anyone is or isn't guilty . All I'm saying is that the club made accusations towards Stendel last season. Those accusations haven't been denied. That's all the information I have to go on. I'm saying it LOOKS LIKE guilt to me based on my beliefs and upbringing. That's different from me saying he's guilty. Apologies if it came across differently
I thought DS did deny the accusations? I'm sure he made a post online. Might be wrong. There's always two sides to a story I suppose. What annoyed me though is that the board said (I think) hed been in contact with another club weeks prior to his sacking. Then why not dismiss him then? And, surely, you have to consider how they were happy for GS to be in contact with other clubs as he said "all the time". To be fair, I'm biased to DS. Loved the guy.
Lastly on this subject from me. For the record I am currently unhappy at the way this board of ours is operating. I'm glad IF Daniel Stendel, Paul Heckingbottom , Gerhard Struber and Kilian Ludewig stood up to them. It's about time more people did.
Don’t think he did TBH. Can only find this on subject, excuse the https://www.google.co.uk/amp/s/www....ts-daniel-stendel-barnsley-reasons-talks/amp/
I remember Stendel doing a few press interviews with us, getting questioned about the Huddersfield link and not once did he deny it. That spoke volumes to me, whether he actually approached Huddersfield or not, he clearly would’ve jumped ship had the opportunity arose. I loved Stendel in league 1. The way he got us playing was superb. Solid at the back yet still over powering the opposition. His passion on the touchline was the icing on the cake too. It’s a season we’ll all never forget. His tactics in the championship didn’t work though. We could’ve had prime Cafu and Maldini plying a full back and they would’ve still been constantly going forward. He needed to adapt his tactics but he didn’t. I do wish him luck. Maybe not with another English side, hopefully in Germany.
Precisely. Go back and read the articles the owners put out at each point. Then consider the EFL threats. And the threat against Hearts and the SFL after they blocked a takeover of Partick Thistle. And let me know which transpired into legal action from the owners.
I'd echo those thoughts RCT. Daniel came to us at the right time and he did all the right things in that wonderful season. However, it's easier to get out of League 1 than it is to survive in the Championship and unfortunately he was too tactically naive when he was in charge in the higher league. Struber had more tactical nous and we did become more competitive when he took over...even prior to buying Sollbauer. Daniel's departure was inevitable, given the results and the performances under him in the Championship. I get the disappointment re him leaving but if he was talking to another club (which, as has been pointed out, he didn't deny) and he was tapping up his coaching staff to go with him, then there was no way he could have stayed, no matter what people think of the Board. Daniel worked his magic with the fans and we loved him, but just because he was close to us and liked to have a drink with us in the Garrison, doesn't make him a competent Championship football manager.
The only people who have admitted that they were speaking to other parties were in actual fact the board, who stated on record that Struber was their number one target and that they kept in touch with him throughout Stendel's time at our club. These are the only facts of the whole debacle.
He didn;t actually, he dropped him numerous times, but his other option was a very young Jordan Williams who got repeatedly caned on here. Its easy to forget just how young many of these kids still are. Jordan Williams is still only 20 I believe, and of the players remaining, is in the top 5 most barnsley starting appearances.
What materialised quickly was McGeehan wasn't technically good enough in the centre, hence why Stendel switched him. It was like trying to plug a colander with one matchstick. So whatever he did with the materials at his disposal, there would always be a weak link. Time was the only thing that could start to translate raw potential into eventual experience and knowhow.
You can’t prove something if that something doesn’t exist. You made a statement where you claimed something did exist so it’s right that you are asked for proof to back up this assertion.
