... as of tomorrow. That was the rumour at my daughter’s game this afternoon. Sincerely hope it’s not true.
But the boxing day hunt isn't only still on but has had legislation written to make sure it's still on
Really hope not Fired. My eldest lad is really enjoying his first season at Holmfirth Town Juniors U7s.
It will be suspended because this government don't care about the rise in mental health that's happened already and will continue to rise from people of all ages having their enjoyment of grassroots sport taken from them.
My son will be gutted. Tbh its outside, they're in age groups and on the whole in the same bubbles so for me the risks for outdoor sports are negligible. Kids need a physical outlet, particularly when schools have become more constrained.
I think it’s only if your local constituency goes into a tier 3 lockdown. Tyneside, Durham and Sunderland currently suspended. Not sure but that’s what I’ve heard.
Liverpool and its environs are going to get the most severe lockdown as well, so their local football will be suspended, too.
I’d imagine Sheffield could be close to becoming tier 3 with the amount of cases lodged the past week. It’s severely on the rise there. Whether Sheffield and Hallamshire act on leagues they represent in Barnsley or anywhere else other than Sheffield is something I can’t answer. Don’t Barnsley have their own organised leagues? I don’t know the answer by the way.
Yet another jaw dropping anomaly if true. Theyre perfectly fine going to school even though indoors, but they can't play sport outside. Much more of this nonsense and civil unrest is not far away.
Not many left in Barnsley leagues the older they get. My son plays in Donny, Selby and Barnsley league at the moment. Standard is highest in Sheffield as they have about 5 divisions, Donny have 3 I think.
If it’s true what I’m hearing tonight that Boris May go regional instead of local with lockdown measures, then I guess Barnsley will be in lockdown from tomorrow. Wait and see
Exactly. You can get on a plane and travel for hours on end brething in the same recirculate air as 300 other people, but you can't be outside playing sport. Bonkers.
My lad played his first ever competitive game yesterday. It’s just never ending sadness. ‘Stay safe’.
Actually said after my sons team getting beat heavily it was nice to watch a game with a crowd. Can’t see grassroots being called off unless schools are shutdown again.
I hope it’s not suspended, we’ve only just got back. Won last seasons cup final and the lads are chomping at the bit to get going. Some of these lads would be up to no good if they didn’t have football to ground them
