Name which players past or present from Barnsley or any British team who have been raved about but when you've watched them you thought nah.

    Mine are

    Harry Kane.

    Josh Scowen

Kane? Really? He is a genuinely amazing goal scorer and in plenty of spurs games drags them into the game coming back for ball etc.

Scowen is one of the best players I've seen for Barnsley and a position we've not replaced since he left. Sadly been poor since leaving.

Kane is a bizarre one. He’s in unreal form this season with both goals and assists. I’d choose him and Son right now over any other pairing in the world.

Never understood Neymar being put in the same bracket as Messi and Ronaldo.

Benzema at Real Madrid. Nothing on the Vialli, Kluivert’s of the world but managed a decade at Real Madrid leading the line.

Plenty. They came to Barnsley from clubs further up the footballing pyramid, therefore they were obviously superior to our own players according to many self appointed experts.

Lionel Messi. When he first came on the scene as a 17 year old. I thought at the time, what's everyone raving about here? Just shows what I know! :)

Rooney for England, without a shadow!
I always thought Luke Steele was a bit hyped up too much for Tarn. He was orite, decent shot stopper. But he wasn't amazing, as some people made out

Scowen couldn't get a regular start in the side due to Hourihane and Brownhills being better, played a while at right back, didn't think he stood out as a top player as others rave about him.

Kane, terrible header today and sometimes goes missing, falls over, not quick , I'm obviously not saying he's rubbish just not as good as everyone says.

It's just a bit of fun not serious, it came to me earlier when Kane glaring header miss 6 yards out centre of goal from a near perfect cross. The Scowen one was also difficult as we don't rave about many of our players so not many to pick from.

I thought Bale looked like an absolute bag of w@nk when he played against us for Saints at Oakwell.

Glenn Johnson. How that lad played for Liverpool and England I’ll never know. Played like he had his boots tied together and eyes in the wrong holes.

Closer to home I got called ‘an absolute mongo’ (not sure what that means like) when I had the audacity to suggest George Moncur was a passenger and a waste of space. All talent, no application.

David Ginola. Sometimes great, sometimes awful. Mainly though, I think Gazza got it pretty much spot on with this...

A silly time? You mean finishing the season with four superb victories? Hammering champions Wigan in their own back yard, Walsall home and away and Millwall at Wembley to clinch promotion back to the Championship. All at a time when we had only one fit full back (George Williams) available for selection. That silly time?:D:D

Paul Pogba. Good player, admittedly, but just that. Good. Not the world class he thinks he is. Probably a difficult bloke to manage too.

On his day, I agree. But I still remember him sat on his backside near the Oakwell touchline, looking like he couldn't wait to get off the pitch.
