Going to be interesting this Saturday to see how much the formation or even the player selection will differ from the Struber blueprint...Looking like there wont be a new Boss in time so if Murray gets the gig..will he have the ba**s to change it around , 4 - 5 - 1 with Woodrow up top

Woodrow up top on his own is like playing without a striker. Nothing against Woodrow, but that’s not his style. He naturally drops deep. He needs players ahead of him.

Woodrow more than likely won’t be here anyway...

He played 3-5-2 last time from what I remember - The West Brom game that we drew 2-2 on Sky was that formation?

That means we'll probably get the obvious back 5, then a midfield 3 of Mowatt, Styles plus one more and then Woodrow and Chaplin up front.

Agree, isn't it about time these boring football threads were all lumped together in one thread so as not to ruin the rest of the forum? ;-)

Given any new players (if any) we sign this week won't be involved in the matchday squad, we've got what we have. So assuming no outgoings and all players come back from international duty in good nick (blimey that's already asking a lot isn't it?) the team will be set up 3 - 5 - 2, as that it the system we've been playing. Try and get Mowatt further forward and Woodrow in a front two.

I would go along mostly with your selection ,with Odour making the plus one more in midfield, however I would start Schmidt instead of Chaplin .

I had Oduor as the left wing back myself - with Ludewig leaving the Williams and Oduor will be the wing backs.

Murray plays 3 5 2, I'm assuming Woodrow is gone so I'd play

    Walton
    Williams, Solb, Helik, Anderson, odour
    Styles Mowatt Halme (cdm)
    Chaplin and Freezer

I think he will make his mark to show the board he is worth a shot at the job. To do that I expect a significant change in how we play.

The back 3 will definitely play with Walton.

    Walton
    Brittain Sol Helic Mads Williams
    Bahre Styles Oduor
    Frieser Schmidt

I think Mowatt and Woodrow are as good as gone. We ll have a couple of new players on the bench with.

    Collins
    Simeos
    Thomas
    Chaplin
    Halme
    New
    New

He will play Oduor to prove a point and because the supporters want to see him. Bahre for the big statement, play Brittain because the recruitment team have just paid out for him, he will pack defence and midfield to stop us getting over run to try to claw out a result.

Would end up being a 4-6-0. But at least the press would no doubt be high and the midfield flooded with Mowatt taking pot shots from 30 yards and hitting row Z ;) Always wonder why Woodrow doesn't take our free kicks, the only player that's proven he can strike from range..
