In other periods of history, Cummings, Gove, Johnson, Jenrick etc would rightly have been swinging from gallows in parliament square by now. Completely & utterly bent.
In previous times they’d still have been running the country. for a period from 1950 - 1990 they’d have been nowhere near any power, seen as irrelevant and lightweight, but our ‘superiors’ have discovered new ways of manipulating the masses and unless more wake up to it, we’re stuffed.
Just like the other week the Daily Star are again brilliantly going after the government. Who's buying the paper to wear the mask
I would be amazed if after Boris backing him he repays that loyalty by quitting for someone else. I wonder if he did go who else will follow him out the door.
Peak cronyism twattery if he won't quit for breaking the rules he helped produce but will quit because his mate goes.
My thoughts exactly. A few people I follow on Twitter are celebrating, but resigning in a burst of righteous indignation just before the proverbial hits the fan and then controlling things from inside whichever nasty little pressure group employs him next is peak Cummings. Wouldn't be surprised if he's been waiting for this, in fact. He'll have rock solid chains of command within government anyway, and a definite job offer if someone like Gove ends up in charge next.
Just been on Newsnight that top advisor Lee Cain has quit No 10. Suggests that Dominic Cummings is also considering his position. Lee Cain: Senior Johnson adviser to leave Downing Street https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-54907188
Could it be that Cummings has finally realised that brexit is going to be an almighty f**k up and thinks this could be a good opportunity to abandon ship and leave the idiot to kop for the fallout?
Wonder if this means Boris has decided to capitulate and accept a deal with the EU, hence the fall outs who’d have thought it, we end up in a weaker position as a result of leaving the EU. But don’t forget the blue passports. What a set of tosspots.
I want to know who would follow Cummings out so I hope he goes and takes some of that useless cabinet with him.
Cummings has known that all along - he has been working to a different agenda than the best one for the British public
With Cummings, the question is not whether he is quitting because he isn't getting his own way, but whether he is quitting because he/his family/his friends have got enough money out of the trough? Lots of dodgy contracts flying around with millions handed over for not visible product.
Can see the Daily Mirror headline on on Dominic's departure: "Cummings & Goings". I should have been a journalist.
