Bahre reminds of Luke Thomas. He passes when he should shoot and shoots when he should pass. In some cases they do neither which winds me up even more.
Had the same feeling too. Bahre has creativity and at his best can weight passes really well. But at his worst can trip over his own feet. As for Bullocks unbelievable first goal for us, I bumped into Steve Walsh and Steve Agnew in town that night and had a brief natter. Walsh said they'd been told to just back off and let Bullock shoot as they didn't think he was a threat. Ah well, never mind ;-)
i think its quite generous of you to compare Bahre with Bullock. if we played a 352 with Bahre given a free roll to do as he pleases with a midfield 2 of strength behind him (think Redders and shez) then he just might, just do ok.
Bahre is a player. He needed managing - probably needed a rocket up the arse rather than being frozen out. We haven't exactly been blessed with Glavin-esque virtuoso performances in recent years, but Bahre being subbed on 80 mins a couple of seasons back was one of the few times I have seen a Red applauded off the field by a crowd on its feet. This after a sublime display which had repeatedly left opposition players on their backsides. I would have put an arm round him as gaffer and asked him to do it every week.
I don't remember the opposition, but the media team were all over it like a rash. Gifs galore of him leaving players on the ground
Yeah he played well in that game too. We should really have been out of site when they pulled the goal back. Two worldies by Potts and Thiam. Bahre missed a hat full. Charlton played in White though?
Murray definitely dropped Bahre. I remember a home game under him on a Tuesday night & Bahre was in the East Upper with his girlfriend. I asked him if he was injured & he said no just not selected.
But it's a 3 month loan. So comes back in January & challenges for first team after getting some game time at Notts ??
I think that is good for Matty and good for us. He is likely to get starts and plenty of minutes on the field playing men's football, not youngsters. We get him back in January if we need him and he will be a much-developed player by then. Good move all round.
I'm not sure, based on how Murray spoke yesterday. He mentioned training with the U23s, there has been interest, talking to his agent, etc.
