We played much better than we did against them twice last season. I thought we were much the better team team, took our chances well and ultimately deserved the win. However a couple of defensive blunders and a few wrong decisions in the final third cost us the win The signs are still there that we are a good young team, but missing a little bit of confidence. We should have made them pay with playing against 10 men for over half an hour. Congratulations to Adam Murray for getting us playing with a great tempo and the passing looks considerably better. Callum Brittain's performance looked impressive and we might have acquired a decent player here. I am very encouraged by the improvements seen in the last couple of games and anyway, onwards to Saturday, where I hope we can expect another decent performance from the Reds
Agree with this It was frustrating in the end but thoroughly enjoyed watching tonight. We look a completely different prospect under Murray and credit to him for getting us playing with a greater tempo, more movement and more of a threat Better decisions today and we would have taken all 3 points
Unless ur Man City or Liverpool when has playing against 10 men ever been easy when ur not in the lead? When a team sticks 9 men behind the ball it’s hard to break down. Obv. Wanted 3 points but there’s some utter **** on here tonight - embarrassing.
Disappointing not to beat 10 men but the emotional roller coaster of last season appears to have been forgotten now.Looks like the players are beginning to settle down to the demands of this season. Like the positive start to the game not sure how good Stoke are but strong squad on paper.
