On tonights performance he isn't what is needed if Mowatt drops off. I'd rather play a three with James and tell Mowatt to play how he did for Leeds.

Very much early days SD. He can certainly pass a ball and had good set piece delivery.
However I have to say that coming from the Klopp institute, I expected much more aggression and pace from him going forward.
    Time will tell.

I'll chalk it up to finding his feet. He's shown signs of his talent. Very comfortable with the ball at his feet. But he does seem slow to make the pass, something that Mowatt gets lambasted for.

He come on and played with literally every stoke player in front of him, stoke made it hard for us to get near there box really, a think to criticise him is a tad harsh

When he finally does pass it though it goes to a Barnsley player:D
I thought his passing looked very promising.

If he could pass and press he wouldn't be playing for us.
Time and time again we get in dangerous positions and lack quality, I'm hoping Kane can add that quality because no one else at the club has given us it.

Kane in place of Mowatt then James, palmer or Styles. Sol Helik and Anderson, Odour Brittain wing backs Woodrow Frieser or Schmidt or Chaplin. Kane needs to play forward not as holding player. Can see him being more effective than Mowatt

What does he think he's doing, coming in with these newfangled ideas? Can't see it catching on.

I'd never heard of Kane before he signed. A friend of mine described him as a number 10 type midfielder. I've seen a number of posts on here that have said similar.

I've only seen him play twice but in each game he dropped deep to pick the ball off the defence and looked to play a forward pass. He made tackles and passes but he wasn't taking players on and wasn't making any effort to get into the opponent's area. He looks like a player that enjoys playing in front of the back four not a player who plays behind the front two.

I do think people have entirely the wrong idea about the type of player we've signed unless, for whatever reason, we've asked an attacking player to sit in front of the back four and hold back when we're attacking, and we're seeing the manager's tactics rather than the natural position of the player.

Looks a decent player so far but a long way removed from the type of player I'd been led to believe we'd signed.

Kane is definitely dropping deep. So I agree we need to push Mowatt further forward as there is no need for 2 deep midfielders. Need to give Kane time to adapt to a new team and system as well

He's played deeper in the two games because we've been chasing both against sides who have sat back to defend.

It's difficult to get behind a back 4 when they're camped on the edge of their own box.

Good to know he's been written off after about 30 minutes of football too - it could be a long 4 years for him.

He's not even played a full 90 minutes for us yet, can we give him like 5-10 games before calling him garbage?!

I thought he looked a good player. Always showed for the ball, and always found a team mate, often with a forward pass. Did what you want the player that's playing deeper in midfielder to do. Would like to see him and Mowatt both further up, with James sat deep. With Palmer, Styles and Simoes as options to bring on (or move inside if Styles plays on the left).

Problem last night wasn't Kane. It was Odour's decision making / composure, Mowatt's shooting boots and Davies' face. Oh, and two individual mistakes that gave them goals. We scored 2 away from home, which should've been enough to win.

Me anall. You can buy quicker and more accomplished players but they start at around the £15m mark.

Best signing since Woodrow and was playing the deep role under instructions last night, being a straight swap with Palmer, who I thought also looked very good. Kane is class and it will show in whatever position he is asked to play. Maybe Matty James will play the deep role in time, which will give Herbie the chance to get forwards more and we will see another aspect of his game. I thought that he showed the ability to conrol the game from deep last night and, if that's not his strongest position, he did very well. We've got a gem in Herbie and it will show over time.
