........... Frieser going to right wing back.
Out of position for Cardiff’s first goal and most of the Cardiff threat coming down our right hand side.

Up to Oduor coming on this performance has been nothing but PAINFUL to watch.
    Worst I’ve seen this season.

    No forward line.
Defence too slow to come out.
Styles lost confidence - and should be dropped - but we’ve no one to replace him.
    Horrendous to watch !!!

Says it all when we let a striker go and he has gone through two clubs and we still haven’t replaced him.

The Frieser decision was reminiscent of what Morais would have done - putting a player in a totally inappropriate position.
I hope we are not going to have to endure these types of decisions again.

Do you mean Styles should have been subbed? Or styles should be dropped due to recent performances? Because in my opinion he has just had his first bad game for a while. And he wasn't even that bad compared to rest of team.

Ismael made mistakes tonight but not half as many as the players. Still, he was on a hiding to nothing against a physical side like Cardiff - we don't have players who can cope with that. We were only going to get anything if we went ahead - as soon as they went 1 up it was pretty much over, they just had to sit back and let us misplace passes and hoof it up to Schmuck.

Picking out Callum Styles as a poor performer tonight is a bit of a stretch.

I’m not saying he was good but he’d not be in the top six of poor performances - headed by mssrs Helik, Schmidt and Simoes. Closely followed by Chaplin, Andersen, Frieser. Mowatt wasn’t good. James misplaced more passes tonight than in the rest of his barnsley appearances over both spells combined.

To be fair, I’d not lay too much blame at the feet of Walton and Sollbauer but those aside it was absolute dross.

Repeat ad lib, he ain't that good. We were poor tonight and he fluffed his lines.. far far better out there than that greedy sod.

They don't really know what they're doing.

The QPR bloke getting sent off disguised the fact that we were mullered for most of the time it was 11 v 11.

We were good against Watford but they missed chances and Mowatt scored a wonder goal.

We have not turned a corner with the new coach.

Banging it up front aimlessly is footballing suicide.

Frieser won't cut it in this league. I'm guessing he's the replacement for brown which up to now looks like another poor desicion on the transfer front.

If we play like that during the rest of the season - then our last points gained will be those against Watford.

Playing frieser at wing back, replacing James with Halme, not playing kane, bringing on Vic bringing on Miller against QPR, not starting Oduor, switching Styles LWB to RWB when he is neither. Playing 3 up front when your front 3 is Chaplin Simeos and Schmidt in the Champiosip against a big , physical side like Cardiff.

Even new in to the club he should have more knowledge of our squad. Same ******** from same type of manager we should have left Murray in charge the wins were coming.

Play a formation to suit our players in this league. 4141

    Walton
    Sol Helic Mads Oduor
    James
    Styles Kane mowatt Chaplin
    Freiser

Woodrow, Williams, Brittain only players capable of getting in to the team when fit, play variations of these 14 players in whatever formation suits best

Sign new striker, Left back and wide midfielder.
No Thomas, Schmidt, Simeos, Vic, Miller Halme

    Play Herbie Kane.

We need to play our quality players not Forest Gump runners. Shove geggen high pressing.

    A few questions:

What makes you think Sollbauer would play ok at full back?

Are Helik and Andersen good enough to play in a two at centre back at this level?

What has Herbie Kane done to suggest he has to start?

Chaplin is a centre forward who hasn’t been good enough - what makes him likely to show any success on the wing?

Why would you leave Callum Styles on the right?

Has Clark Oduor done anything this season to warrant his selection?

What makes you think this squad is suited to 4-1-4-1? We have a lot of midfielders but no fit full backs or anyone to play up front on their own.

We were poor tonight but even in that shape you suggest or any other I doubt it would have made any difference. There were too many poor individual performances - especially from a centre back who is playing in the same defensive setup he has all season under three managers.

We need a rest and to get the injured lads back.

Obviously Woodrow is a massive miss but having no right full back was a killer too, Brittain has been great but so too was Williams, as a centre back, left wing back and right wing back.

Since Ismael has been at the club we’ve had three games in seven days, barely any in depth new tactical training as there have been recovery sessions and then straight into prep for the next game.

We need to get through Saturday, hopefully get a point or three, then there’s two weeks for him to get to work and for us to get the players fit.

The time to judge the manager will be a few games after that period.

All really good points you make, my selection was making a choice based on how I see our strongest line up and formation with the players available at the time and surely even new in to the job to play away a Cardiff following the games we've just played, considering Cardiff potential line up and the injuries we ve got no one would go there and play 343 with Frieser at wing back with Simeos Chaplin.and Schmidt up front.
My selection might have given us a bit more of a chance, sticking to 343 no matter what is not football good management and I hope we don't just carry on doing this as in Struber and Stendel because last nights result was a truer reflection on us than the last 2 wins. We can't afford a learning curve for the new manager and all the knowledge and information about our players is already within the club.

If we had played well and lost - then that would be different.
But we lost 3-0 to a very very poor team - that was there for the taking.
Which makes things much more difficult to take !!!

Why I picked out Styles for particular mention - we all know what a brilliant player he is - but he was so timid on the ball - and wasn’t confident enough to drive forward with the ball - let alone drive forward to have a shot.
As soon as he received the ball he was looking to off load it.
Styles just didn’t make himself available to receive the ball.
One particular point of play in the 2nd half where James was trying to get Styles in on goal and Styles dithered one way and the other - and it resulted in James passing the ball out of play.
It looked like a bad pass by James - but that wasn’t the case - it was the dithering of Styles that caused it.

Contrast the lack of confidence of Styles - with the excellent contribution of Oduor.
Ok - Oduor made a couple of mistakes - but he covered back when their player was in on goal - plus he was always making himself available, finding space out wide and wanting the ball.
