No we are not we have left the EU- we have a temporary agreement to keep most of the rules and benefits until the end of the year but we arent members anymore. We feel the full impact of leaving from Jan 1st

Is that because you've belatedly seen the 'benefits' or just an advocate for democracy?

Barnsley have just finished playing a game. Why not at least post about that for the next hour or so?

Same goes for the rest of you politically obsessed posters.

Or find somwhere else to ply your trade. For a while.

Perhaps I'm on the wrong board here. I thought it was about football, at least for a while. You know, to discuss after a game.

Or are we supposed to think, well.. that was it for 90 minutes - back to what really matters?

Don't let him fool you. He only voted remain because he's selfish and planned to move to Spain. He knew a vote to leave could have scuppered his right to free movement and his ability to live out his retirement with the woman he likes in Spain. Those plans fell apart and so he changed his desires to leave as he personally could no longer benefit from moving abroad.

Apologies. I didn't realise the two were mutually exclusive. Perhaps you should just find another thread to ply your trade? Just a thought.

It's because he always wanted to leave but voted remain purely so that he could take advantage of free movement of people to live in Spain. After his Spanish retirement plans fell through he reverted to his original true stance of leave. He voted selfishly even though he didn't believe in it

Given what has been announced politically in the last hour i’d say it’s perfectly reasonable to make political posts tonight.

It’s not like there aren’t plenty of football threads too - many of them and mostly all positive.

If you don’t want to contribute to political threads stop bloody commenting on them.

We won less than an hour ago mate.

But if you want to post about other things at this time and have a board which considers it equally as important to ensure that things like US democracy are not forgotten, then carry on.

That's kind of you. Believe it or not, I've managed to post about the game and the US election. And they say we men can't multi-task.....

Yes it is. We all accept that.

It's just fekin idiots like you that took the bait have well and truly f@cked this country up for the majority of the country, you don't realise you have handed more wealth and power to the minority rich in this country. I how you reap what you sow.
Sadly for our children their livelihoods and futures are well absent truly down the pan.

Taking back control???? We can't even make our passports because someone in the tory party is good at taking backhanders.

The BBS's big strength has always been that its content is wide-ranging and despite its name is not exclusively a football forum.

Also, as far as I'm aware, there is no limits on the number of posts an individual can make or the number of treads someone can participate in at once.
Because of this, it's very possible someone can post both in this political thread and a football thread at the same time. There is also no rule saying a user has to open and read every single thread on the forum, so if you don't want to read/post in a political thread, you don't even have top open in(and a thread named "Boris", in 2020, is very likely to be about out Prime Minister(unfortunately), so it was easy for you to avoid!)

And Brexit too. Nothing can stop an Old Gimmer, giving his opinion on anything and everything.

I shouldn't have spilled over into a political thread.

    I'm off.

People can post about whatever they want. You chose to enter this thread. You chose to read his comment and then got angry that he had dared to post about something which was clear from the one word title of the thread you read and posted in

Agreed. Although I do hear that we're in for the 6'11 Georgian striker Boris Hairyarse, which might blur the lines somewhat.
