If he has a sniff of a release clause.

Give him a pay rise and get rid of it.

Treble his wages NOW rather than making it a token gesture when a big club comes calling.

Thought everyone put a shift in. Seen 1 or 2 negative comments. Especially re Chaplin. He was calm and collected. Got some great tackles in near the end.
But Styles is special. Keep that up. Bids will be numerous. Most talented player at the club.

Dont get me wrong, I agree that everyone put in a decent shift and display, but for Callums qualities on the ball, his defensive efforts, are far beyond a player of his skill on the ball.

He can easily become an entire all around midfielder, dare I say it, on the Scholes mould.

He has it all. Just a bit of work on finishing (brentford style) and we have easily the best prospect outside the PL

Just signed a new contract. Will make no difference if the big boys come calling with a fee that could tempt em. And wages beyond our means for the lad. Your not looking at a £15kpw lad here. But I would be happy to see him want to develop even more at t’well.
So many chase the riches and fall down the ladder. But I just think Styles is made to have a career at the highest level.

It's what is in that contract that worries me.

Hence, if a release clause is in, renegotiate it and get it out.

This lad will be worth millions.

Trouble is. Agents, they will not tie a payday for themselves ( or a player) down. If they believe a player is destined for the top.
It’s common nowadays for a clause to be put in contracts. Clubs either agree, or lose a player for what we used to say int owd days. Nixipongo.

    I know. I get that.

When you have a lad this gifted, you have to try.

I'd hate to see this talent go for a measly couple of million. Especially with the sums being paid these days.

This is a lad that we should ensure that we get "value" for. And not the usual mantra of, "it was good business".

This is the type of player I've already resigned myself to losing by the end of this season, but for once, let's het ourselves sorted with it. So we can truly push onto the next level.

    Another cracking performance.

Although some "judges" wanted him dropped as he was lacking in confidence apparently.

    He's brilliant.

    Styles.
Wide left - he committed too easily to a tackle in the 1st half which ended up with one of their players being free in our box on our right hand side.
The ball was eventually scrabbled away.
In the 2nd half he missed a shot at goal from 10m.

IMO - Styles is a young player that has still much to learn - the first thing he needs to learn is how talented he is.
His confidence is not as high as it should be.
He has the ability to drive at the goal and frighten defenders.
As Hirst’y used to do - pick the ball up and drive directly towards the opponent’s goal.
