    If this lad has a buy out clause then perhaps rather than promoting this talent in the shop window, then take him off display until he signs the contract without the buy-out clause - but do it on the quiet!

    And we have the privilege at the moment to watch him grow. A bet on a England cap within 5years would not be totally daft. ;)

    Should be our 1st £10 million + sale if he continues to develop. He’s absolute class just hope we can get back in the ground to watch him before we sell.

    Without being too flashy it was a good all round team performance today. Agree,
    that Styles was the stand out player for us and he is one player we ought to be tying
    down to a lucrative long term contract.

    I was concerned with the comment our coach made in the week re- striker recruitment
    in that he was happy to go with what we already have at the club until the January window
    at least.

    We already know of both Cauley and Conor's attributes, but with regards to
    Victor,you have to assume he must have seen something extra that he's able to tease out
    of him and credit where it's due, the lad repaid the confidence shown in him, with a very
    well taken goal this afternoon. Well done Victor and well done to our defence for keeping
    a much needed clean sheet.

    He says his position is middle of midfield.
    And I’d agree with that - BUT not yet - he may have the physical skills but he hasn’t yet got the footballing intelligence to take one of the two important central places - that’s why he’s pushed out wide.
    But given time - I think he will have.
    He also needs to get more steel and killer instinct when driving forward - especially in front of goal.
    Makings of a good player - but not there yet.

    Dane a few months back picked out two players to watch - Styles and Simoes.

    He isn't there yet agreed, but he's only 20 years old. I was being a little flippant with the "total football" comment but I wanted to offer a more positive spin on things after the adverse comments about the players, the system and Valerian the last few days.

    Now, don't forget this is Barnsley we're talking about - not Barcelona, or Liverpool etc. Styles can play anywhere along the midfield positions, not only that but very often he's asked to change position at HT when the gaffer has decided to make a sub and change tactics and systems. That suggests he's more intelligent than most. He's not the finished article, but this lad is destined for bigger and better things.
