Before the goal he had two poor touches and looked like a carthorse. - then - WHOOSH! Great player - always thought he had it in him!!
And the celebration told you a whole new story - the way he went over to Valerien and hugged him just said, 'thanks for giving me another chance - I won't let you down.' Victor could become like a new signing for us now. He has the physique we need in that position and, if good coaching can bring the best out of him, he may well do a good bit more than just fill the gap until January. Really pleased for him and for VI for trusting him and sending him on. Good on yer, Victor.
Never saw that coming. Unbelievable strike for a player who’s looked so off it when he’s got on the pitch in previous matches
An olive for your thoughts dear sir. I had hoped to play the Dane, but sadly COVID-19 has left me with just memories of a young David Currie.
I'm glad Adeboyejo is getting a chance because he's stuck it out and waited for his chance. He hasn't sulked and has had bad times farmed out on loan. He started the 2018/19 season well and was unlucky to find himself playing a bit part. Great finish yesterday so chuffed for him.
He needs to build his upper body strength. If he made himself more difficult to push off the ball then he would start every game. Emile Heskey wasn’t a tall guy but he had shoulders as big as a barn door - Victor should be looking at Heskey as his inspiration.
Agree with you. I had serious doubts about Victor but with yesterdays goal and a few instances of strong hold up play hes shown that there is something there to work with. The point you make about coaching is spot on and crucial. He does have the physique and is clearly v strong. seems to be lacking in pace but if he could put himself about a bit he could be an asset. Also agree with you re VI in showing patience with him. for giving him some belief. After he scored it was the Fitness Coach he went to hug .........they must be listening to your advice! COYR!
