Whilst I feel your pain and please don't take this the wrong way, but a kiss and tell book about Deon Burton would be up there with "financial advice from Katie price" on the book the world is least waiting for.
If Deon can get in Towie...this could sell...I claim my share of intellectual rights now ....intellectual possibly not the right term though.
Don't be shy Terry....everything Is in confidence on here...let it out brother....obviously all future related enquiries must come through me as your de facto agent.
I've heard that Martin Bullock was pretty indifferent to playing football as well, and just did it as it provided him with a decent living. It's the main reason why he didn't play at the highest level for most of his career. If it's true I can well believe it. My mate (Forest fan) and I ran into Paul McGregor at a Manic Street Preachers concert in Derby on a Tuesday night when Forest were playing. He claimed to be injured, and said that he hadn't travelled with the first team as watching football "bores me senseless". His exact words. A very talented player, but clearly only interested in his music career, not football.
I find that a bit upsetting about Bullock. McCord was a good player and wasted it, but he was just a good technical footballer. He learnt to play the game. It's often the case that what we have an aptitude for and become proficient at isn't our passion. Bullock was different. He had an amazing natural talent. His poise and balance, fast feet and close control when running at full speed was something you just don't see very often. He could turn the best defenders in the world inside out and put them on their arse. What he could do was a thing of beauty. Shame he didn't get the pleasure from doing it as many got from watching it.
I agree completely. He was absolutely unplayable on his day, against the very best in the world. I'm sure Sol Campbell knows that better than anyone.

I used to love nets on a Tuesday and a Thursday evening but hated standing in the field for 46 overs on a Saturday. I love Cricket but wished the second team had played Sundays instead. My mind just wasn't on the job on a Saturday. Saturday was football, beer and Horse racing. Used to love it being rained off or getting phone call on a Friday saying opener had dropped down from first team and they didn't want me to field and bat down at number 9.
