One of the worst Barnsley performances of the 1990s but what an amazing last five mins. Latest upload.
Loved it, followed it for about 70 mins. Watched the teleprinter and saw Bromsgrove 1.......Barnsley .....2, hit the fkin roof, could not believe it. lucky chuffes. Fantastic away following minst.
The guy celebrating at 1:41.06... Just as the final score graphic fades.. made my day. Thanks for the upload!
remember it well. the abuse that Anderson and Wilson got that day was unreal...and it has to be said, a lot of our fans were proper bell ends that day. before, during and after the match.
I remember this game, but it was a couple of years before I started attending regularly. I have to say, that away end sounds fvcking loud - you dun't get that these days. (Well, obviously, you don't, but I mean even when we were still able to go.)
I can honestly say I was glad we won. But have never known a game where I actually felt sorry for the home fans. It was their cup final. The biggest game in their history I believe. They totally outplayed us for the majority of the game. Been there, where we have played so many teams off the park and know the feeling. But that was probably their worst experience of that.
I've seen most of second half and we seem to play better than I remember too. Not sure if I'm able to watch the first half yet though, need to build myself up to that one
Have to say, I can't blame some people just wanting to escape what must have been a horrendously overpacked away end, but the supporters running up to the players and home fans following our goals are just embarrassing. However, what a noise when the goals went in. I'd loved to have been there to experience it in person.
Remember it well. Me & EastStander had to get tickets for the home end as the away allocation went in no time at all. We blagged a transfer to the away end just before kick off and then spent 88 minutes wishing we'd stayed in the pub before the 5 mins of carnage. Great memories, thanks for posting.
I drove doen after work in Cumbria with no ticket, still had me suit on and bought a programme and started to look round to see if any trees to climb to watch match, a couple of our players were outside the ground, I asked if they had any spare tickets as I'd driven down from Cumbria, one of them shouted at some lads he had just given tickets too inc a spare one and bingo I was in the ground.......fely sorry for their fans who deserved a replay at least, and then a load of our fans went on the rampage in the centre after the game....shamefull, and the abuse DW got was unbelievable
I was there and remember parky coming into the pub before the game. For me it was very mixed feelings at the end, a home fan not too far away from where I was stood had an heart attack and they were trying to treat him for quite a while during the second half. Sadly we found out later he had died. Nobody should go out to watch their team and not return home.
you are right. Fans walking around the town like billy big ******** all afternoon. We were rubbish, 3 pitch invasions as though we'd actually won the cup
