A truly abysmal performance, I went on my own on train from Wolverhampton where I was studying, only to get as far as Bangor and having to hitch hike there. Scary after the match with locals sniffing out Yorkshire accents. Couldn’t get out of Wales quickly enough.

Left winger who scored a couple of league goals for us that season.

Didn't Mick Clarke sign from Birmingham? Could be wrong. Remember the replay at Oakwell - 1-0?

Mick Clarke was one of the quickest wingers I've ever seen play for us, his end product after setting the turf alight was, alas, woeful

I was egged on to go to that even though I didn’t have a ticket. Ended up finding out where the team were staying and the mate who egged me on went into the hotel and came out with a ticket he cadged off Stuart Gray.

Very lively day out indeed. Great memories from the days when the fa Cup was still hugely significant. Aldershot wasn't bad either :)

Before the game a huge Ram was paraded on the field. I just remember the huge fence with barbed wire on the top to keep us in. Think we won replay 1-0 at oakwell then drew aldershot away in next round. Good trips

Used to see him in the bus station after the game getting the bus home. Totally unimaginable now.

I remember some scuffling with police inside the ground. I had a broken arm in a pot and had it protectively raised to avoid getting it crushed in the melee. With memories of the miners strike still very raw, I shouted some encouragement for our fans to get stuck into "the ********". I then realised there was a motorcycle policeman stood next to me. Luckily he either didn't hear me or chose to ignore it. It must have also looked a bit threatening with my potted arm in the air!

Remember the tickets being £5 (which was pretty steep in those days). Got ot the ground to see a line of young lads standing on top of beer crates, for a better free view than the one we paid for!.

Didn't we go on the beat Aldershot after 2 legs, and then lost at Arsenal that season? Went to Aldershot - that was quite an experience after the game!
