Is it possible to die of anything else these days?

He’d been in Broadmoor and prison for nearly 40 years. What a colossal waste of money that was. There haven’t been many more people deserving of the rope in history than Sutcliffe.

I think he should have lived in solitude for at least another ten years and the absolute pr1ck who sent the “I’m Jack” tapes should be in the cell next to him!

This week we're seeing the varying demises of Sutcliffe, Trump and Cummings. In the **** show that is 2020, I'll gladly take that.

How the hell did he catch Covid in a high security prison?

I think his last trip out was to Arnside to scatter father's ashes, in all the papers, no photos, my then wife saw the police etc on the pier which they had closed off but obviously at the time had no idea what was going on...

All his health issues over the years but of course it's down as died of covid not with covid.

Didn't Barnsley fans used to sing a song about the Yorkshire Ripper? I'm certain I heard it at away games.

Exactly and he should consider himself lucky to have been kept alive at taxpayers expense all these years. He should have been subjected to a much worse respiratory problem than Covid-19 right from the start, courtesy of a short length of rope and a long drop.

Evil evil man but you can't bring back hanging for one guy like that or you'd have to bring it back permanently. I'd rather we didn't have it at all myself.

Exactly - much more likely that his lungs collapsing were due to him being run over by a bus o_O

Yes quite a lot in the Clarke and Hunter period home games as well as away seem to remember a young lady wearing a red suspender being mentioned in the song

I'd say "we" still do at away games, if there were away games to go to.

It's been sung at recent home matches as well (well, not recent recent, but you know what I mean :)). Usually gets an airing a couple of times a season, for some strange reason.
