I was disappointed with the barn. It was too dark and stood out against the snow rather too much. It needed toning down. His snowy trees in the background were really good. Discuss.
The barn was kinda ok. In making it look delapidated it ended up looking wonky. The snow covered trees were excellent.
I loved it. A personal preference of mine is having no man made objects (houses, shacks, barns, fences, etc.) within a landscape painting. Also, when creating an oval painting, I'm not a fan of seeing anything painted outside the created parameter. However, that doesn't stop me from enjoying & appreciating a master at work.
Agree. Don't mind a bit of broken fence though. I love it when he paints his mountains, they go from dark aimless shapes to a creation with depth and shade, especially when he lightly scrapes his knife and suddenly they become real mountains !!
I've just watched one on the iPlayer. This guy is amazing, makes it looks so easy and effortless. I wish I could paint like that
