    I've got to say it's absolutely mental and will never happen.
    However, the new owners said they wanted to develop the brand and it would certainly have our name reverberating around world football for a while. We're not getting promoted this year so if we were fairly safe from the drop he'd be a huge asset in raising the profile.
    Like I said though, never gonna happen.

    And it's got him back in the public eye, albeit briefly. His agent will know Chien & Conway from their ownership of Nice so a simple phone call "about my boy Mario" is all it takes to set the hares running

    Yeah Big Val didn't want a strapping centre forward that would score a shed load of goals. It just wouldn't fit into his plans being new to the English game and wanting to make a successful fist of things.

    Balotelli is a head case. He would upset people at the club, have a negative impact on the smooth running of training, he would upset the dressing room, he would cost a fortune and there's no guarantee that because of the first three points I've mentioned that he would play regularly. ******** to all this 'it would be a laugh/it would put Barnsley on the map' rubbish. If I want a laugh I'll watch summat on telly. Barnsley will put itself on the map and get noticed when the 'team' is developed in a sensible way. The guy is an absolute fool and I'm extremely pleased he appears not to be signing and destabilizing the club.

    About the same outlay as £1mil transfer fee + 10k/week.

    Not out of the realms of possibility, wouldn’t bankrupt us, but no resale value makes it unlikely

    Shame really. If he had his head screwed on, he’d do some right damage in this league.

    But then again, if his head was screwed on, a bigger club would have been in for him.....
