Not seen this posted, but looks like Bramall is in with a shout of getting in the 1st team! https://www.barnsleychronicle.com/article/19873/bramall-with-1st-team-and-may-get-chance-in-future Sounds promising
Interesting that he was brought in as a wing back, but we've been playing him as a striker. He's very fast and a great finisher. But does he have a hairy arse? That's the big question.
Sounds like he's doing great in the U23s and ready to make the step up to the first team. Well done Dan, keep up the good work
For me this is what BFC is all about - lets give him a chance and have a bit of patience with him if he needs it.
He's a bit young. Hair only started growing out of all my orifices around the age of 40. Unless he is particularly hirsute there is little chance of making the first team for at least 20 years. So much for a policy based on youth.
He sounds to be a similar player to Thomas. If he is then that’s great. IMO - Thomas is a very exciting young player that we haven’t seen much of so far. One of the few players along with Styles at the club that can put their head down and drive forward beating defenders for fun.
But he never picks his head back up unlike Styles! Thomas really needs to improve his final ball in my opinion. Once he does that, he will have his place in the team but right now I’m perfectly fine with him making cameos off the bench here and there.
Can't say I've been very impressed with Thomas so far. Works hard and looks decent driving at defenders. However, the difference between him and styles is styles seems to have a good footballing brain, often makes the right decision in possession and backs his own ability. Whereas Thomas often seems ponderous and lacking in ideas when he gets anywhere near the final third. I do think that this new formation may suit Thomas more than the previous one though and wouldn't mind him being given a go off bench in a front three.
It would be amazing if he's good enough, given that he had slipped down the pecking order at Matlock Town earlier this year. He was at Everton for 9 years though.
Trouble is , you say we havn"t seen much of , you are having a laugh , he had 37 appearance last season & has been involved in or about the team this season, until thankfully a coach has come in who can see what we have seeing for a long while , a player who up to now is way off championship level , a player who never delivers in the final third & for a forward, that is not good . We all want him to kick on , improve & justify his signing but the truth is he has not progressed at all , infact he has gone backwards , possibly a move to a division two side or a conference team on loan in january might give him the kick start he needs . I am sure there is a player in there somewhere but if we are to keep improving, then we cannot go back to players who have been part of the problem previously.
Conference? ..... I know he's been less than impressive but he is alot better than that standard. He's a winger and needs to be played as that otherwise it's pointless keeping him here. Id like to see him in a front 3 before writing him off at this level.
He's a winger and under Struber was forced into a centre attacking mid role or as a wing back, neither of which suited him. His talent is beating a man, which is what wingers need to do. He's not great at decision making, which is what CAMs do (if he could do both, we couldn't afford him). I'd like to see what he could do over a few games in his natural role. I don't think he's one of our better players, but I'm willing to give him chance to prove me wrong.
