First goal on this video is as good a team goal as I've seen us score, v Sheff Utd towards the end of the 98/99 season. Same game when Devlin did Ales Krizan? From our own corner flag to the net in 12 seconds of quality and composure.

....except it was scored at the Kop end.

Bruce Dyer scored the seventh at the Ponty End and what a beauty it was. But it gets overlooked because of how good Barney’s was.

Coops was a hero of mine too, his goal that sticks out for me was against Ipswich. We won 2-0 and he scored both.
One was (if my memory serves) a half volley from about 20 yards after flicking the ball up Gazza style. Can’t find any footage of it unfortunately

Is it strike - the hit or the goal. Just remembered JCR takes some beating

Yeah, 22nd Oct 1988, his second goal was a header from a Beresford free kick. I remember the goal, I think @fitzytyke mentioned it earlier too, and like yourself I can't recall seeing it since the game itself. Pretty much as you describe it, flicked with his right foot and hit with the left, it seemed it was all one movement at the time.
